What if you were to book a package for one night with the meal plan (get your tickets for the whole trip, but again the room and meal plan for 1 night only) then just book a room only for the balance of the trip?
So (for 2) it would cost you $78.05 ($35 x 2 plus 1.115% tax) for the meal plan. And you could have an incredible dinner at Kona one night $90 to $100 tab, and the next day have your full counter service meal and snack to tide you over (especially since you'd be stuffed from all that food at Kona)
It would be about a $130 dollar value.
If you knew you were going to splurge one night and have a $100 dinner, why not do the meal plan for that night? The dinner would get cheaper and you'd have a "free" snack and counter svc. meal to boot.

, but I don't think you'll get a $90-100 meal for two at Kona... maybe $50-60 tops, I think. Entrees in the $15-20 range, desserts and appetizers are about $6-7 each.
