inside the parks ..on cement only....If i go into ANYTHING i do not do it....

so inside the park on cement is it a horrible thing to take my sandals off? I am accustomed to walking barefoot any chance i get so if i am in the park in an outside environment only....Like i said, inside ANYTHING i will put them on.....i take em off....
because my feet hurt and it felt good when there last year....

I guess it isnt allowed to walk barefoot anywhere in the parks....I only did it for a bit last year when the feets hurted....

How about this too.....is it REQUIRED for a male to wear a shirt
when out in the open at a park....I understand shirts and shoes requeired to enter a store, restaurant, but what about in the open air?

I think it's just proper ettiquette to wear shoes/shirt in a place that is not 1) a water park or 2) a beach of some kind.

Keep the shoes on, if sandels hurt try tennis shoes.

I am almost positive that you are to wear shirts and shoes at all times. The only exception I can think of is while you're going on Kali River Rapids. The shoes is a safety thing. Disney isn't going to want someone to stub their toe, step on glass, whatever, and then turn around and sue them.

Back in the day, security would ask men to put back on shirts. Also, shoes are a must for safety reasons..it's up to you. If no one stops you, then go for it. Just realize that you may step on something that could hurt you.

well disney regulations state you must have foot wear on at the parks - as to shirt thing? I don't know. We were last at wdw in june and were there for the last day of gaydays. A couple classless low lifes on seperate occasions walked into 1) a store, and 2) a different store without shirts. I guess if they had been teens or young adults it might not have grossed me out - but thee guys were adults replete with greying hair, and in one case a belly. Now I realize these two flames probably thought that it was sexy...but truly it was just "white trash" kind of behavior. I mean kids all around - little ole lady grandmas... and here these middle age fools were oblivious to any type of convention let alone to say utterly lacking in taste. And I wasn't the only one grossed out or offended by these guys. So can you go shirtless? I don't know. Will it draw potentially unwanted attention? yeah... I couldn't say for you or your loved ones but for these two it was like they were attempting some lame attempt at showing off.

Can I ask, how do you know that these two men were gay? Secondly, even if you know that for a fact, what does that have to do with your post? I completely agree that seeing two overaged men with big hair chests and guts walking around shirtless would gross me out. But it wouldn't matter if they were gay, straight, black, white, or purple. I just don't see how this was relevant to your post.

1) it was relevant as those were the events that past
2) I did not see any straight dads behaving in such a way
3) I used to be Gay - it is fairly easy to know

Try Tevas if your feet hurt. Don't go barefoot!

It is Disney policy that if you are walking you have to wear shoes. Even of Kali River Rapids now. Try to find a comfortable pair. As for the shirt, same thing. It is Disney Policy to wear a shirt. Man, woman, and child alike. I am sure that the duo w/o the shirts were eventually asked to put them on.

Well, you beat me to the punch on that one. :)

Regardless of who they are or what their orientation is, shoes and shirts must be worn.

 It's kinda like being a little bit pregnant... ;)

Well, dontcha all know that gay is a choice??? "I used to be gay", c'mon, give us a break. Anyway, it was gross that the guys had their shirts off but as far as being "flames"...live and let live, ya know?
Please wear your shoes and your shirts. I am grossed out by feet and pit hair.

No bumpy ride...

I just listen these days to all the rights being granted becasue well, this is supposdly not a life CHOICE (aint that a kettle o fish), this is almost a genetic disposition so we are to believe....

So, Today in NY we have our 1st Gay High School opening, earlier this month in Canada we had some Gay marriages.......

Rights for the Gay to adopt and raise children (Kettle #2 right there)

Then I hear someone mention.....even flippantly.....I used to be gay.........

I was under the impression THAT was not possible..........

Bloody Hell, I would love to hear someone say, I used to be handicapped, but, ehhh....I gave it up.

Sorry.....Maybe just a bit too much media exposure this week on an already touchy subject..............

Just to get back on topic, some men's fashion is more frightening than bare feet or even no shirts........

Last time we were at WDW, a group of teens were shirtless in line for Test Track. A CM nicely came over and said , "It's a family park. Please put our ahirts back on. " To give the guys credit, they put their shirtson without argument. They didn't even gripe after the CM left.;)

This is no longer a trip planning thread so with that I am locking it... I think we have answered the original question...shoes and shirts... let's leave it at that.. Everyone have a great night..
