Is this doable within reason?

Son has FP for Flight of Passage for 7:00-8:00 P.M. We have been trying to get ohana reserves for the longest time and a reservation opened up and I grabbed it. Problem is it is the same night as FOP and is at 8:15 p.m.

Not sure how long the entire process is for FOP if we were to get there when the window opens up. I read the attraction alone is 5 minutes and my plan was to get out of the park and get a cab or uber to the Poly.

Is this possible to do? (I'll continue to see if other ohana open up in meantime).

Thanks

I would say no. Keep trying to change one of them. The FoP FP line can take some time and there are 2 preshows before you get on the actual ride.

No. FOP seems to take forever. If you get through at 7, FP line will still be about 20 - 25 minutes. Plus pre-show, and the second pre-show. Plus ride. I would say you wouldn't even be done until 740 at the earliest. Then walking to the front of the park, waiting for the cab/uber, driving... I would say you wouldn't be to Ohana until at least 815, at the earliest. Probably a sweaty mess from rushing.

Look for earlier FOP or later Ohana..

It's gonna be tough. Even with a late FP+ (during Christmas), we waited about 20-30 minutes in line.

It would require pretty much everything going perfect or close-to perfect. Let's look at it as realistically as possible and see how it would work:

6:55pm: You scan your FP+ and get in line (USUALLY you get a nice little 5-minute grace)
6:55-7:20pm: Worst case scenario wait for FP+ line
7:20-7:25pm: Ride Flights of Passage
7:25pm-7:32pm: Exit the ride. Order the Uber and start walking briskly
7:32pm-7:50pm: Walk from Pandora to Animal Kingdom Entrance
7:50pm-7:52pm: "Hello, this is your Uber Driver, where are you" - go back and forth with Uber Driver until he eventually finds and picks you up.
7:52pm-8:07pm: Uber to Polynesian
8:10pm: Make it to Ohana podium

Now, this is assuming that everything goes to plan. It doesn't account for longer-than-usual FP+ lines, rides going down, increase in guest traffic, traffic, etc.

Truth be told, I think you're stretching yourself too thin. You'll be too worried about making the ADR to really enjoy the ride. I'd keep your ADR, but keep checking for other times/dates. Is it doable? Yeah, seems that way. But I'd have everything rehearsed in your mind. Have uber ready to go and order once you leave the ride and power walk it like a 40 year old mom at the mall.

Thank you all. My gut feeling told me that was probably going to be the answer, but I'm glad I asked.

Eh, I'd do it. I often do things the majority here say don't do. Do you have down time? Probably not. But I'm not going to say it's not doable, unless you run in to a mechanical problem. That is always possible, impossible to plan for but possible for any ride. We've ridden a lot and not had one but I know they are possible.
We've ridden with a FP a lot. I've never had a wait in the FP line, ever. Not opening day, not New Years, not ever. We scan in, walk through and up to the 2nd touch point, stopping no more than 1, 2 min for each group to scan and be sorted in to rows.
You can scan in at 6:55 and be at the 2nd touch point by 7:00.
You should be off the ride by 7:30.
Walk out and be at the front to call for your Uber by 7:40, 7:45 at the latest.
That gives you 30 min to get to Poly, easily done from AK

Personally, I'd look to put another half hour or so between those two if at all possible.

Even if you don’t make it you’ll still make it. You can be late. They won’t mind. And the Uber pick up is super easy and close to the front. Much shorter walk than to a bus. If you want to do both and don’t have luck picking the Rez back, then just do it. It’ll be fine.

That's not necessarily true. It'll be up to the cast member at the podium whether or not to waive the $10 no show fee if you are late. You are supposed to show up 15 minutes early to your ADR and there is no specified grace period if you are running behind. Most will give you a little past your time, but if the restaurant is very busy and popular, which Ohana is, they could easily cancel the reservation if you're late.

It has taken us up to 45 minutes to get completely through FoP with FP+ (this includes waiting in line, delays in the pre-show, delays with the ride starting and then walking through the maze of the exit). I'm going to wager a guess that is, most likely, the longest it would take your son to get through FoP. If he checks in at 6:55, that puts him at 7:40 to be completely off the ride and through the exit. That gives you 10-15 minutes to get out of AK and into an uber/lyft (I would check both apps to see who can pick you up the fastest) and 20 minutes to get to Poly and checked into O'hana. Is it doable? Yes, but definitely not ideal as all could possibly go wrong, LOL! I would try to move either reservation even by 30 minutes if possible. Or wing it and know you might be late for O'hana and possibly risk a no-show fee.

You def can’t change the reservation after 15-20 min before but just about every time they allow a grace period for those who are late. You aren’t billed the $10 per right at your reservation time.

Moving it is preferable. But if that doesn’t end up happening, they’ll still be ok. It would likely only be a few minutes if any.

I'm just saying you can't know for certain they'll be okay and won't be charged. There is a possibility that that can happen, being 5 or 10 minutes late, probably not. But it really depends on the cast member, the restaurant and how busy it is. There is also no way to know how late someone could potentially be when going from one side of the parks to the other. There could be traffic on the road, the ride could break down, etc.

I'll venture to guess there is less than .01% chance they'll be charged a fee showing up late. Not showing up at all, yes. Late, next to no chance, especially as soon as your ADR time pops up. While you are right, technically they CAN, but they won't. It's horrible CS especially when you are talking about being late.
Heck, you can be on time to Ohana and stand in line to check in for 15 min. I have more than once.
I wouldn't ever PLAN to be late on purpose but I have sure been late more times than I can count for any number of reasons (ride going down while I was on it as one) and not once been charged as a no show. Or turned away for that matter. They tend to bend over backwards to get you in and take your money.

I totally agree with AngiTN. If you show up they will not charge you. I have had it happen a number of times. I have never been turned away - not even once when I was almost an hour late. You check in - they find your ADR - they tell you to wait and then you are in. If you find you can move it fine, but otherwise do not WORRY. All will be fine.
