Hello fellow DFTW brides,

I am in the EARLY stages of planning and wanted to through some ideas out there for you all to critique. I am recently engages and we are thinking of a wedding at Disney. We checked out a few venues on our recent trip. Here is the low down on costs I am running in my head. Please educate me! I am thinking escape wedding sometime after June. Problem is my brother is still in college and I think it is a little unfair to make him take a week off for a October wedding. Although that would be my dream! So we are thinking summer, December or January. I know, no plan but I am NEW at this :). We are thinking escape with 11 guests plus two groomsmen and 2 bridesmaids. We have no idea on location. I would love to overlook the castle but my DF thinks the wedding pavillion is too formal and I know sunset point allows onlyt two guests. So I believe the cost for that would be around 4870, correct? Do we need to pay extra for each guest over 8? I am thinking hair and make up onsite, what does that run? I budgeted around 2000 for hair make up and dress. I think we can keep the bridesmaids, mothers outfits and mens around 800. We want to do possible engagement photos at disney during a planning session or do the day of in the park? Does this run 1400? Can you schedule pictures the day of the wedding in the park but after the wedding? We are thinking a firework cruise and reception at Ohanas in bridal wear. Is it acceptable to wear bridal wear into Ohanas? There for, my running total is

Venue 4875
Dress, make up, hair 2000
Groom wear 200
Bridal party 500
Photos 1400
Ohanas 500
Firework cruse 345ish?
Rings 5500
Honeymoon 6 nights at POR with deluxe dining around 4000ish

so is the do-able. I overestimated some areas or maybe not? I really like Alfred Angelo gowns. Does anyone know the costs of the gowns? Thanks!

I'll be the first one of many to say it....... go right now and download or buy Carrie's Passporter's Guide to Disney Weddings....... it is a LIFE SAVER!!! It will quickly become your bible!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of your questions are actually addressed in there!

A few tidbits... December weddings are usually more expensive, things like DJ's are at a higher cost due to the season.
Park photo shoots are only done in the morning before the parks open. usually it is about 6/6:30 for MK shoots and a bit later for Epcot World Showcase. You can do them the day of your wedding for it to count towards your minimum(you will have to see each other before the ceremony), if it's done a different day it does not count towards your minimum.
The 2011 Alfred Angelo gowns ran between 900-1500. I do not know what the 2012 are running at.
Other Disbrides on here will have more information about estimates on costs! Happy Planning!!!!
