Hi :)

On our first day at Disney we will be mighty tired as we are going to have to be AT the airport by 3:30 am (ugh..getting up atleast by 2am...what the heck) anyway, we get into Disney at 10:30 am.

I figure by the time we check in at POR, eat a snack at the Food court and head out to Epcot (if were not to tired).

Anyway we were going to eat at Coral Reef, but because of all the bad reviews i was thinking of changing my ADRs to Kona.

If i take the monorail from Epcot can i get straight to the Poly or do we have to make a stop first (i hate to stop in front of MK since we wont be going until day 4 of our trip, that would be a hard explain to the kid)?

Can we eat at lets say 5:30pm and get back to Epcot before illuminations?

I would love to eat at Chef De France but nothing on the menu looked appetizing to my family (they like things simple), and Coral Reef..well you know. Were already doing Le Cellier 2 days later....what else is a no miss meal?? Thanks!!

You would take the monorail to the Ticket and Transportation place (sorry, there's a real name for it but it's late and I can't remember :confused3 ) and then I believe you can walk to the Poly. Or you can transfer to the other monorail and the Poly is the first stop.

By the way, we went to Coral Reef over Christmas and loved the food, though the waiter was horrible. If you're using the dining plan, I would say keep it, but if you're paying out of pocket then maybe you might want to forgo simply for the fact that it can be expensive.

My family went to Chefs last year -- 11 of us, with two kids 7 and 10 -- and every adult except for me had the "French dinner" of onion soup, roast chicken, and creme brulee. I don't think you can get much simpler than that, and they all loved it. The kids (my nieces) are easily charter members of the Galactic Picky Eaters Club, and each did fine. (One had macaroni and cheese -- read past the French on the menu and you'll see it's not actually all that adventurous.)

I loved the atmosphere -- very much like a restaurant we'd eaten at in Rheims in the Champagne region.

But, I will also say, I'd go to Le Cellier over Chefs in a heartbeat!

We may be in the minority...we've never had a bad meal at Coral Reef and my DH doesn't even like seafood. DD and I do, and in fact we ate there twice on our last trip.

Since you are having such an early morning, it may be a very long day to stay for Illuminations and the crowds back to POR. But if you do decide to do that, I'd stay in Epcot to avoid running back and forth and conserve energy.

If your family prefers simple, you could try Garden Grill...it has very homestyle food and characters too. Marrakesh is another one that while exotic, actually has food that kids will eat.
