Basically it says that all Disney Bus Drivers are now Mears Employees. I thought it was only ME and the transfers for a cruise and maybe a few that are brought in for busy times. :confused3

Actually the asker was asking why the bus drivers are not as chatty as they used to be.

My thinking from working in transportation and with some of the accidents that they have had that they may have asked the drivers to tone down the guest interaction and focus on the road. :drive:

You are exactly right, she is wrong.

That's basically it. I think not so much because of accidents; more because of the general concern these days about driving "distracted."

For a while, drivers were told not to use the PA at all when the bus was moving. That's pretty much passed over, and now we are allowed to announce park hours and return load zones as we approach the destination. But general chatting over the PA during the trip is no longer encouraged.

As for music, bg music still plays, when the computer is working and the driver has not turned it off, but the music loop depends on the bus' destination. Only buses to MK and AS Movies play strictly Disney music.

I was unaware there had been any accidents. Good info to have, glad they have toned it down.

If there is an accident and it was found out that the driver was on the PA giving out Disney Trivia, even though it would have not changed anything, it still looks bad.

I hope no one is surprised. The Mom's Panel isn't exactly known for being accurate.

I don't know why anyone would ask for factual information from the Moms Panel. Maybe opinions on what days to visit a park, or which rides to head for first, I don't know.

Never ceases to amaze me that those representing Disney are still handing out incorrect info. Drives you nuts.

I think the suits believe we're stupid enough not to notice wrong info.

I seriously doubt the suits even think about the general public's knowledge....or lack thereof.
I just wish that those who are there to give info, and or advice, were trained correctly. How many times do we have people posting here, on Transportation, saying that a CM told them, repeatedly, that buses start running an hour prior to park opening, and if you need to get to an early ADR, you will need to take a cab!!!

Disney!!!! Train your people...give them the tools they need to impart good info/advice.:wizard:

Because for 98% of the people they don't know any better and assume since its on the Disney Website that they will give out correct info.

Whats gets me is that they leave known wrong info on the site. I haven't seen a Mom give out the notorious "use two days in one to park hop" answer in awhile but as a lark I went to the end (beginning?) of the questions and sure enough I found one from 2008 in only 4 pages.

I'm sure I could find more.

To be fair I did find a correct one.
