Wow OP that is sad
There is a Cm who posted a while back that he does Unofficial wedding vow renewals at WDW. He knows scenic spots he can do it where he won't get caught
There is always someone in EVERY profession who can do some thing not legal and get away with it.

Is it my imagination or did some names and photos get taken off their website in the past couple of hours?

It always amazes me how people post their iffy behavior on facebook and other social media for all the world, including their employers to see. One wonders just how many people have been fired after being caught posting things on facebook.

Yep, I just went and checked and sure enough the names and photos of the guides are gone. I guess Disney isn't the only one watching these boards.

I'd suggest any of the CMs breaking the rules of their employment go ahead and work on their resumes, they'll probably need them.

This whole thing seems like a lot of "he said she said". The bosses wife told them this and this and this, and then the mom told the daughter this and this and this, and the daughter tells the Dis this and this and this. I don't know. I looked at the website and it makes none of the claims that were supposedly promised. The only thing it says is that they offer lowest possible wait times by taking you at non-peak times...this insinuates to me that they know crowd patterns and know when to take you on the rides. The website is out in the open and they don't JUST do Disney, it's Orlando in general. She says she moonlights as a vacation planner at WDW but I'm thinking that she means FOR WDW. I doubt she's actually employed by the company. I'm actually feeling pretty bad for Gracie right now because it looks to me like she works for a legitimate travel guide company. This is a lot of casting stones for a pretty shaky foundation of shame, IMHO.

That being said, I feel awful that your mother had a terrible trip. I've been around people that don't listen to the advice of us well-informed Disney maniacs and it's frustrating. Listen to us or you'll regret it! Lol. I hope that she managed to make some special memories with her grandbaby, despite all of the hullabaloo

The names and pictures aren't gone, at least not on my device

So how do you explain the cast member discount on merchandise?

I'm iffy about this. The cast member accepted cash and went into the shops alone with instructions for the very specific items the guests requested, dressed incognito but having to present her ID, and then came out and gave the items to them? Besides, a 35% discount for a moonlighting travel planner? And the brother never thought this was sketchy? It's like I said...it's all shaky to me. And it's all 3rd party information. The mom was already mad and bitter, and may have miscommunicated details in her rant. I know I do sometimes. But, if she is doing what is being insinuated, I'm sure Disney will conduct a proper investigation and get it taken care of. Cast members are replaceable, and I'm sure they can find one with integrity

Just looked at their website - lots of spelling errors all over the place. Seems sketchy to me.

Haha well if they are conducting a shady business, they aren't very smart about it. I'm sure if something's amiss Disney will be on them like pink on a flamingo :-p

And, just so we're clear, I don't AT ALL condone the behavior if it's illegal or if anyone is violating a contract. I'm just saying, there's a lot of parties from which information came. And to me, it seems a bit off. If this is a legitimate business, it's about to take a really big hit. And IF IT IS A LEGITIMATE BUSINESS, and only IF, I think that kinda sucks.

they don't say how they do it, but their Facebook posts say you won't have to wait if you hire them and there is a testimonial from May that says, "you were right - we never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for anything." And, it goes on to list Anna and Elsa as one of their highlights. The tour guide may have just scheduled their 3 Fastpasses for them, but it also may have been more.

ok, I know this is wrong on so many levels and I agree with everyone who has posted BUT there is another side to the story.

Being a CM is not a well paid job, it is basically on the same pay grade as restaurants in the real world (outside the Disney bubble) Many CMs are on short term contracts or have had their hours reduced. Most CM's live in rented multi person house shares.

MAYBE this CM is doing these unofficial tours as the only way to pay her rent , as her hours at Disney dont pay enough to cover her rent and bills. Maybe she knows what she is doing is wrong and knows she risks but the risk (to her) is worth it , if these unofficial tours give enough money to pay the rent and continue living in Florida and working at Disney.

Yes we all know she is violating her contract with Disney, but who are we to judge the decisions someone makes when they are doing whatever they can to pay the rent?

wow talk about "situation ethics"! if something is wrong, it's wrong.. if it's illegal, it's illegal. you know the pay scale when you take the job. you don't get to abuse your employee privileges to take advantage of guests becuase you don't like your pay scale. and these guests are definitely being cheated. (although, in the case of, NOT the OPs mom and dad or brother, but the neighbors, I think they were willing to overstep some rules to get, what they thought, would be special treatment.)

Dear disboard members,
I am the manager for Elite Orlando VIPs and we were made aware of this problem by a fellow disboard member. We would like to let everyone know that this person Gracie is no longer affiliated with our company and was in fact let go a significant amount of time ago. We neither support or condone her behavior and would like everyone to know she is acting on her own. The owner of the company Chris Wheeler is available to answer any questions or concerns and encourages you to contact him. chris@eliteorlandoviptours.com

OP here...Thanks for letting us know this woman's employment information. My brother, his neighbor, or my mom never mentioned Elite as the company that they used. Your company just seems to pop up when you google "Gracie" :) I'm still not sure how she managed to get a 35% off discount if she's not employed by Disney? I would think that you need some sort of cast member discount to get this.

If she was let go some time ago then you should probably remove her profile from your website... unless it is coincidentally another Gracie...
