So my family was planning on going in Oct 09 but that has changed to Oct 2010 when my kids are a bit older.
We wanted to stay in the FW cabins, however being over the age of playpen sleeping for my youngest, wont allow us all to fit (4 adults & 3 children)
Is it allowed to pitch a tent on the deck of the cabins, Im assuming no, but Im asking anyway.

Why not get one of the small ones with the fiberglass poles that make it a dome type tent and just pitch it in the cabin somewhere and do an indoor tent sleep out.

you mean in a hotel room?

Its my parents want to camp but bringing all the camping gear isnt possible. They liked the cabin idea because its more homey and we could all stay together but since we changend when we're going my youngest will count since he'll be 3. I would like to stay at the fort but my feelings arent really hurt, I dont really like camping too much, it was mostly for them (since they're the ones treating us to a disney vacay!)

No, your post only specified the cabins and pitching a tent on the "Cabin Porch" which I assume one or two of your children would sleep in and only suggested to just pitch the tent in the cabin. I never considered it might be your parents that wanted to "tent" since I'm not sure two people in just sleeping bags could sleep on the porch and not block the door etc. let alone trying to "pitch a tent" for two adults on the porch.

I'm still not sure that your couldn't fit 4 adults and 3 children in a cabin unless you're over some limit

Larry.

Sorry... yes theres too many of us for the cabin. We are 4 adults and 3 kids ages 12,6 and 3 and its assumed that kids under 3 would be in the playpen provided but since he'll be over 3 we are over the occupancy level.

Hmm, then I don't understand since I just plugged in 4 adults and 3 children 10, 8, 7 on the WDW site and they gave the cabins as an option. :confused3

unfortunately the cabins legally only sleep 6 unless one is an infant....its due to fire codes...

I'm thinking someone ask this question not long ago and Rhonda stated that ages are 3 and younger to be considered an infant and able to stay in the cabin. Maybe she can verify this...:confused3 So you may still be okay with a 3 year old.

As much as I like the cabins its going to be crowded with 7 people and only 1 bathroom. You could do it but it would require a level of familial harmony that doesnt exist at my house ;)

Haha, I know.... it was my parents idea, and since they're paying I wont argue but harmony level is unpredictable.

I thought it was under 3 for playpen... maybe Im wrong. Either way we will be each getting seperate rooms I think in the Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks everyone!
