Is this against any DDP rule?

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times. :goodvibes

At a non-buffet - can one person pay OOP and say order a salad/appetizer and then the other use the DDP?

The servers wouldn't have any issue with the card saying "2 adults" but only charging for one since the other is paying OOP.

Thanks - I miss appetizers so it's a way to make the DDP attractive to me.

Thanks in advance,

Lisa

At non "admission" meals (buffets, dinner shows, etc.), you can always order fewer meals than there are people listed on the card.

I'm so glad you asked this question. We love to eat at signature restaurants, so this would allow us to do only signatures without running out of credits so fast. The 2nd one of us could just order a salad and share the other food with the DDP person. We often share entrees at home.

OR if we do deluxe again, the 2nd person wouldn't need to order anything and would just have the DDP person's appetizer.

We could share dessert, which is what we usually do anyway.

This is very exciting - I can't believe I didn't think of it myself!

Yes, the servers are used to all permutations of using/ not using dining credits. Just be sure to check your receipt to make sure they've done it right.

Appetizers are sometimes more appealing than entrees, so it can make a lot of sense to do this.

What about "admission" shows? We are going to Hoop Dee Doo and have 6 of our party of 10 on the dining plan and the other 4 not. Can the six of us use credits while the others dont? Of course everyone will be having the meal, that seems logical that they wouldn't let you see the show and not pay for the meal.

6 of you can use credits and the other 4 will have to pay OOP.

You can have six people use credits and the other four people pay cash.

However, the 4 people who are not on DDP cannot share with the DDP people.

I believe she was simply confirming the posters statement that the four people not on the DDP would have to pay for the meal. That they couldn't sit there and share DDP food without paying.
