Is this a walking problem?

Trying to book a one bedroom value at AKV for 1/5-12/2020. Went in about 7:55 and for those days it said that all were waitlisted. I thought perhaps it was because I tried before 8. Went in at 8 and sure enough, all days were waitlisted. How could the 11th (the 7th night) have already been waitlisted?

It is not a walking problem. All AKV Value rooms have been unavailable from 12/3/2019 and on. There's a lot of discussion about the topic.

No, They just aren't available. People call and get a different story every time as to why.

Yep. I've been watching them since early December, hoping to book one for a late January trip and I'm working on backup plans at this point. I know this has to end SOME time and they need to put them back into the inventory but I'm not holding my breath. Lame.

But when though? This is such an unprecedented issue with no logical explanation. I don’t book value rooms, but have been following this and seeing this availability issue first hand because I have been stalking CL studio availability, and it really bothers me that AKV owners are having to deal with this for such an extended period with zero explanation that is even remotely plausible.

Yeah, it's a bummer. We added a contract at AKV specifically to have at least a shot at the value rooms sometimes. We knew it wasn't realistic to get them often but we travel at slower times and were very disappointed to see that we don't even have a chance of getting them at the moment. I can deal with it if another DVC member is faster than I am to book but THIS stinks. I would really have appreciated some kind of warning from Disney. Pretty lame first experience with the 11 month booking window at AKL.

Fortunately I just got my Magic Candle oils this week, so at least my house can SMELL like AKV. That makes me feel a little better!

Last August AKV Jambo suddenly had a lot of openings for fall frenzy, https://www.disboards.com/threads/ak-jambo-availability-just-opened.3699659/, I really wonder what they are doing w/ access to booking at AKV.
