Is this a school vacation week?

Mondays have been really busy in the parks for some time now. I hope you'll post back if you go back tomorrow and let us know if it lets up. That's what happened for us last October. Monday was as crazy as the weekend, then Tuesday was blissful.
We didn't go on Tuesday, that was the day of our ride up the Pacific Coast Highway. I was just surprised that Monday was as crowded as the whole weekend!

It really caught me off guard last October too. And of course it didn't help that park hours were shorter. Bag check that Monday morning was the worst I've ever seen.

I knew there were going to be crowds during our visit. I didn't anticipate that during magic morning (and getting to the gate half an hour early) we'd only be able to do one ride during that first (pre-opening) hour.

To compare, on Sunday morning, our first day, we got almost all of fantasyland done in the first 1.5 hours (at regular opening). The weekdays this week have been super busy. I had been thinking the weekend would be busier.

We did our magic morning this morning (8am Magic morning). We arrived at 7:30 and it was already very crowded. We went to Peter Pan first because we hadn't done it yet. We had about a 30 minute wait to get on. By the time we were off it was 8:45. Everything in fantasyland was packed. Went over to Tomorrowland.. Waited in line for a Star Tours fastpass.. Which opened at 9am. So only one ride during our MM. So busy!

I think Peter Pan is one of those rides your either going to have a long wait for or you have to be one of the first in line at the gates for MM or non MM to be one of the first people on the ride. The ride is a slow loading ride, so if your not one of the first few there, you're going to have a long wait unfortunately like you experienced. Also, DL 8am MM's are much more crowded than the 7am MM, so when I want to ride something specific I arrive atleast 45 minutes early to be one of the first at the gates. When we went we had the same scenario as you and showed up to a crowd at 7:30, so I knew Peter Pan would probably have a wait when we made it over there, and sure enough it did. So we did all the other Fantasyland rides first within 45 minutes, and then hopped into the PP line before the regular park opening. Either way we were going to have to wait for PP as we didn't show up early enough to be one of the lucky first few :)

A friend of mine is there to watch her grand daughters dance competition, so there's that going on too....
