So I received an e-mail this morning, with this info. Is this a pin code?

Call 407-939-7798
or your Travel Agent today!
Offer can be booked through 7/15/09.
Be sure to have your PIN ready: XXXXX XXXXX XXXXX (I of course have removed the numbers!)

Yes, its a code. I got the same email, and so did a few of my friends that also called to tell me. Apparently others on the DIS got it yesterday because a few mentioned it on different threads. Business must be lagging since so many were sent, and don't we feel special? LOL I waited and waited and WAITED for a code but can't use it now. :(

I have NEVER received a pin code and it really frustrates me.
I do go to WDW at least 3 times a year but I would go more often if I had a discount. I own some points at DVC but I usually use them when I take the entire family on our yearly trip. I still go down to FL a few times a year myself.
I still don't understand how they decide who gets the code. anyone?

I have no clue. We just went in April, are DVC owners and cancelled a trip scheduled for August ... and got 3 pin codes within the last week. Crazy. We haven't gotten a pin code since 1999. I think Disney knows that DH has said absolutely no WDW until next year.

Of course, when Disney was passing out the pin codes to Castaway Club members for kids cruise free on DCL this summer, I didn't get one ... and I wanted one of those suckers bad!

It offer discounts on rooms, some fairly substantial. $149 per night for deluxe resort standard room.

I was also wondering if you could use the free dining option if you use this pin. Anyone know?

(BTW, this is my first post ever.) :)

I got the same pin code. I wish I could use it, but a trip this year is not in the cards.

From what I understand, a person can't take advantage of free dining and the pin code. Free diners have to pay full price for the hotels.

I got a pin code for 4 night/5 day free dining, value room, plus tix just over $1200. strating 8/23.
Unforunately we won't be able to use it. We are on the Magic on 8/22:cool1:

We got this code on Monday and called to add 2 days at POP to our free dining reservation. We got POP for $59 a night... no free dining, just room rate.

Can you apply PIN codes to an existing reservation?

Yes you can. But like other posters have said, you can only have one code at a time applied.
It's a toss up on what would be the cheapest, but don't be afraid to book it with one code and then change it later. Before being a CM, we were AAA member, fl residents, and passholder. So I would always call and ask which was the cheapest option. Sometimes AAA rate would beat out resident rates.
But unless you know you're getting the best deal online, book it over the phone. For some reason, when I booked a campsite online, they had a hard time applying one of the discounts, and ended up rebooking it entirely, refunding me the initial deposit and the charging the cheaper deposit on my card.

Sorry for asking this, but I honestly have no idea: how do you go about getting an email like that? Do you have to sign up some where or join something? I'm just curious! I'm always looking to save $$ and if I can do it on my WDW trip - that would make it all the more awesome!! Thanks!

It's all a mystery, but people have reported success by logging into the Disney site to play with vacation dates, requesting the planning DVD, and registering with Disney.com and checking the box that you would like to receive special offers. PINs used to be sent by postcard, but the ones we have gotten this year have been by e-mail. Good luck! :goodvibes

:welcome: to the DIS!

You cannot combine discounts, but you may find a PIN to be a better deal than free dining, depending on how many are in your family and where you stay. Some PINs are 40% room rate, which can be a bigger discount than free dining if you are staying Deluxe. If you are staying at a value with four people, free dining will usually be the bigger discount. You can run the numbers or have your TA do it if you are using a TA.

Thank you! I appreciate the advice. I just registered with Disney.com and checked the boxes to receive emails. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because getting a pin say next month or something about a January special would sure beat having to wait until NOVEMBER for Disney to publish the specials. Thanks again!
