We leave on Monday and I just checked the 10 day forecast to get an idea of temperature, etc. Every day but one says scattered thunderstorms. Is this a normal forecast  or can I expect it to be very rainy. I've been to Florida once when I was in my teens, I went during the summer. I remember lots of evening lightning showers, but very little rain during that time. We'll have a good time regardless, but it would be better if we weren't soaking every day. (We will bring our Disney ponchos I got in the mail from our travel agency)

Hi Jeni,

Yes it is. Many days this time of year will have a scattered shower or t-storm. Other days will be dry. You won't have rain the whole time unless a tropical system comes close while you are there.

hi all,
yes it is,however last sept before our trip they had the same forecast.i was terrified it would rain our whole trip.we were there for 8 days and only one day mid afternoon it poured for about 25 mins and one night while we were sleeping we had a thunder storm by the time we got up for the day the sun was out and drying everything.

Totally typical forecast - not to worry. In all of my past trips, we have not had more than a day or two of full rain - most days it's just a passing shower or tstorm. Hope you have a great trip.

Yep, that's what the weather is like in the summer and early fall. That doesn't mean you will see a thunderstorm every afternoon, just that it's possible. They're usually isolated and don't last very long.

Just carry your ponchos with you in a bag. Thats what we did the 1st week of Sept. We only needed them2 or 3 times for aroung 5 minutes the whole 8 days. Same forecast as you areseeing. It Florida it always rains somewhere for a quick shower each day.

Very, very typical!! Although thunderstorms in FL rarely last longer than 15-20 minutes. Believe me, I have lived here all my life and am used to it. Just carry your ponchos with you and you will be fine! LOL!!

Thanks everybody!!! I feel much better. Will keep the ponchos with us just in case.
Woohoo only 3 more days!! :cheer2:

I think Orlando puts 'scattered thunderstorms' up at the beginning of June and doesn't change the forecast until mid-October. :earboy2:

Don't worry. We live 3 minutes from Disney and even though the forecast called for scattered thunderstorms almost every day last week we only had one downpour, which only lasted a few minutes. Lots of lightning, not much rain.

Orlando has to be the easiest place to be a meterologist.
It's like a training ground for weathermen, a way to gain trust because it's hard to be wrong!
