Is this a no brainer? Wwyd

Here are my options:
1. I can use SW credit card points to pay for an entire stay at a value resort (all star movies or pop)
2. Use the points for 4 nights at a moderate(Coronado) and pay oop for two nights
3. Skip the points and rent dvc points and add on the dining plan.

Obviously option 3 is the most expensive but I like deluxe and the ease of the dining plan. We stayed deluxe last time and I wasn't blown away so I'm not sure what we'll get by going mod or value.

I just can't decide but I'm asking myself if it's basically a no brainer and we should just book the value.

Help me decide!

First I'd ask what it was about your stay that you didn't like?
I know for us, we didn't like the CR because it didn't feel themed enough -- which is what we found in POP...and we LOVE it.
Location and room size was great. But we wanted MORE DISNEY. I love the theming at POP -- it's got such a FUN disney feel.
Moderates and Deluxe have more subtle Disney themeing, where POP is more in your face with it. We really like that. That's what we wanted out of our WDW stay.

We stayed at BC for the pool and rarely used it. our room must have been the farthest from the lobby, the hall AC didn't work so it felt damp, the room didn't feel too spacious, house keeping skipped us some days, I had to call to request them to at least take trash. I was just expecting more for my dollar.

I would love to stay at CR for the monorail and proximity to MK.

EEW...sounds like you didn't have a great experience at BC...sorry to hear about that.
If you can try the CR...then I'd say do it!

I have heard excellent things about Mods (never stayed at one - YET).
I have also heard excellent things about DVC rentals. (never done that yet either).
But we LOVE Pop. From my perspective...if it allows you to have a longer trip I'd say go for it! To me...if that was a deciding factor, I always opt for the cheaper, but longer trip. But that's just me.

Edited to add: we had excellent house keeping at POP...cool animals and disney characters made out of washclothes and towels...really cool. Though we had exterior hallways, so that wasn't an issue. Trash always collected, room always clean. Yes, they are a bit more cramped than mods or deluxe, we make it work (and we're a family of four)

I would LOVE to try a DVC point rental sometime. Maybe we'll do that next spring :cutie:

Either way we'll be staying 6 nights. We are doing the YES program so no option of dining plan unless we do the DVC rental.

One option is to purchase gift cards to pay for the dining...then it's already paid for. I know it's more convenient to have, but I wonder if knowing it's already paid for would help in that convenience feel. I know when we priced out the dining plan, it was close to break even for us versus paying out of pocket, but we chose to do the plan for convenience. Thankfully we could do that with the Annual passes by booking through a TA.

just had to add...I'm so jealous that you're doing the YES program!! My kids would LOVE it. I hope we can do it sometime

Sounds to me like you would be fine with the Moderates, as long as you understand its an outside hallway and therefore you have no balcony to yourself and your window faces the walkway. It's just a little something to get used to :)
Also, if you rented DVC points last time that is why you didn't get housekeeping each day. They only come every 4 days for that.

Well, we enjoyed Pop, and if you didn't use the pool much last trip, then staying at a Mod or Value won't be that big a deal. We stayed at Pop and it was great for us. We'd like to Try Port Orleans Riveside (if we go in June) or the new AoA (if we go in Nov) on our next trip, but only because we have the baby in a Pack n'play. Otherwise, we'd be fine staying at Pop again. :goodvibes

We didn't use DVC last time so for the price we did pay I wasn't too happy.

I think I'm leaning towered POP. Having it covered by points makes most sense. Also I've heard the only resort available for points rental for my dates is Saratoga. So DVC will probably be next vacation.

Yeah that was me above on an old login. Lol I'm always either just jaaaacki or jaaaacki21 but I haven't been 21 for a while now. Lol.
