Just logged on the wow website and clicked on special offers and then FD and there was a message that this portion of the website is down due to updating! Could one hope that means they "might" be adding winter dates to FD??? Has Disney ever done that type of thing on a Friday?

The site is always updated at night (the hotel and dining reservation parts). It doesn't mean anything.

Yes, the system is down for maintenance every night.

I wish they'd go ahead and put up free dining dates for next fall LOL. They did that one year and it was great.

I'd say it's a pretty good bet that the January - March 2013 free dining offers will come out around September 30 for Disney Visa holders and a few days later for the general public.

I really, really hope we don't have to wait this long. DH and I have already started discussions about how long we give Disney before we start seriously looking at alternative destinations. Figuring into the equation is how confident Disney is that they will fill those rooms without a discount. We have gone in January/February because it has been slower. If rooms are full, though, the parks will probably be also.

That's the word around the Disney blogosphere and that's when the current free dining promos ends. Just makes sense.

Dates are going to vary from year to year, but many weeks in January - March are historically low crowd seasons for WDW. There is no better draw than free dining to lure people to the parks during those crowds weeks or even entice people to take their kids out of school for those low crowds and low rates.

The U.K. folks always get the free dining promos a year in advance and there offers don't really ever have any correlation to U.S. offers anyway.

Highly unlikey there will be any May or June FD offers - in almost 9 years of free dining they have had exactly 7 days included a couple of days at the end of May, beginning of June, and that's it - ever.

October 2013 probably won't come out until next summer.

Not true!!! We got free dining for May 5-13 in 2009, and got an offer for May 2010 but went in Feb instead.

No, my information is correct. You may have received an email pin code for free dining for those May dates or had a pin code attached to your name in the Disney system for those dates, but you did most definitely NOT get a general public free dining discount for those dates, because there has NEVER been a general public free dining discount for those dates ever. These are every single one of historic dates for WDW general free dining proms and their release dates:
