We are staying at the OKW 2 bedroom villa May 15th - 21st for 2,324.00 (which equals about 387.39 a night) can you tell me if this is a good rate, or could we do better. We are using a post card code that I received in the mail. We have never stayed on site, we have only been once before and stayed in an off-site vacation home but want to experience the on site magic. We have 3 children ages 12, 9, and 7 and think the extra room will be nice. Please help with any advice. Thanks to everyone.
Oh, one more question, will we need a car or is the WDW transportation good enough? We really didn't want to rent a car, we were taking a limo from the airport but if we need to it would not be a problem. Thanks again!

I think you got a very good rate. The two bedroom could go as high as 4 to 600 depending on the dates plus the florida 11% tax. I would keep the resv., then check the rent boards on this site. Ask if anyone could check on availability for the dates for you. Some of the people are pretty desperate because of not banking points etc.., and you might get the rooms for under $250 per night, IF they are available. You won't get the maid service, (which you could pay extra for with the rental, but really don't need) but the price might be worth it. Good Luck.

We usually don't use the car, we use the WDW transportation system. We stay at OKW when we have our Grandchildren with us for the larger rooms and more space. (Plus, it is our home and we LIKE it there!)
One set consists of 4 boys, 11,9,7,and 1. The other set consists of 11 yr old boy and 6 year old girl. In any case we always do very well on the bus from OKW. I worried about using the stroller, but it was very easy.

Another thing, I have always had other vacationers offering to help when they saw that it was needed! Oh, now I am homesick!!!

This is an excellant rate. If you want that warm and fuzzy feeling, just check your dates on Expedia and you'll see.

We don't usually rent a car when we stay on site. Check out Tiffany Town Car. They have reasonable rates and allow for a "grocery stop" on the way. (see post on this board - can't get it to let me enter the link)

I think you got a great rate, and I'd definitely hang onto it. I recently stayed at OKW, and in a two bedroom...it's very nice...and very roomy!

I do however think that you'll need a car if you plan to do anything other than hit the parks. In other words, if you plan to dine at some of the other resorts, or say stroll on the Boardwalk late one evening, a car is definitely helpful. Overall, Disney transportation directly from your resort to the four parks, water parks and DTD is great, however getting between resorts is not always a short trip. You usually have to take a bus to DTD and then transfer to your desired resort.....and the trips can take as long as hour or more. If you just plan to see the parks and dine there or at OKW, you shouldn't need a car.
