Is this a good price?

DS has been asking for a Wii. We are planning on getting it for his bday (October)or Christmas. Today's Target flyer has a Wii bundle advertised for $129.99, which is $20.00 off the regular price. The bundle includes a steering wheel, a couple controllers and the Mario Kart game. I thought these were in the $200.00 range, so this looks like a good price to me; however, I know nothing about Wii's. So...can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? If not, any suggestions on where to buy it? Thanks for your help!

I think we paid about $199 for our Wii, but that was 3 years ago, IIRC. The Mario Kart game is one my boys love, but I don't remember what we paid for it--our Wii only came with the Sport pack game, or whatever it's called. I think it's a good price, but they may have come down since I was looking for one.

I would say that is a pretty good price. The Wii has been declining in sales for the last year. So Nintendo and retailers are reducing prices to try to get the product moving before the Wii U comes out. I have priced the same bundle at places for around $149. Another option is to get a refurbished system from a retailer such as EB Games. They run around $100. If your DS doesn't particularly want the mario kart game this is the route I would go. All of my systems I've purchased have been refurbished and I haven't had an issue. My PS3 will be going on 4 years and still working great (knock on wood).

It's a great price. Controllers alone used to be $40.00 ea. (not sure what they are now), plus the video game is a lot of fun.

We bought ours 4 years ago and paid $250.00. It's been worth it because there are games we all play together as well as each person has games they really enjoy by themselves. We also stream netflix through it.

Yes, I'm sure it is lower because of the Kinect.

Yes that is a good price.
I was excited last fall to get one for $179 and that didn't have a bundle with it. The controllers alone will still run $40 so if it has a second controller, steering wheel and mario cart you are getting the system almost for free.

That's a great price, but bear in mind the next generation Wii comes out next year. If you think your kids are going to ask for that next year, I would hold off. That's what we're doing.

toy r us has the same bundle for 149.99 and you get a free 25 gift card with purchase. so if they are out you could go there or have wal mart price match the target ad.
