Is this a good plan for Halloween at Ft. Wilderness?

I just concocted what I *think* will be a fabulous plan--but I'm not too familiar with Ft. Wilderness (I camped there for a week in 1998--but it was college spring break, so the details are a bit fuzzy!)

My kids will be 6,4, and 2. We will be in MK that day, and will take the boat over to Ft. Wilderness around 4pm. I have reserved a golf cart. We will watch the decorated golf cart parade (that started at 5 last year) and then we have 6pm ADR at Trail's End. After that we will go Trick or Treating.

Does that seem like it would work out without too much craziness?

Do you think the golf cart is a 'necessity'?

Sounds fun! The cart is not a necessity, but you would be able to see more of the Fort with it.

Now I'm reading that only people staying at the Fort can ToT there.

Can anybody confirm or refute this?

In the past the issue was more one of locals bringing their kids in to ToT.

PS - You're welcome to come to the Campfire Singalong with Chip & Dale at 8pm. You can roast marshmellows over the fire and then get a picture with Chip or Dale (Snack stand sells all you need-sticks, marshmellows, etc). Then there is a nightly movie in the same location at around 840pm.

So it is definite that other resort guests cannot trick or treat at the Fort? We currently have plans to be at the Boardwalk on Halloween night, but were considering changing to Mickey's Backyard BBQ and trick or treating at the campground/looking at decorations. However, I don't want to do something that isn't allowed. I don't see how they could check cards anymore since no one has them, but I suppose they could scan MBs...seems like that would be very time consuming.

I read that thread, but then another that said they do not check, so I was hoping to figure out which was right! Thank you.

We were there last year and as far as I know they were not checking proof of Fort residency. They have in the past stationed CMs at the loop entrances and asked for proof. So they could do it again if they received too many complaints. I personally stayed at the camper giving out candy while my teens rode the cart around loops. There were a lot of people but we had fun.
