Is this a good deal or keep negotiating?

We made an offer yesterday on an Old Key West resale, it is 210 point March use year. It has 59 points now and all points in 2012. They wanted $59/ point, we offered $50/ point and seller to pay closing cost. I got a call this morning that they counter-offered, $56/ point and them to pay closing cost. Should I keep negotiating, take the offer, or stick to my original offer. New to this, seems contracts are passing ROFR for anywhere from $45-$60/ point! HELP!!!!!!

Have you taken a look at the ROFR thread and determine how close you are to where Disney's buying back the OKW contracts? I wouldn't get too close to that point.

Where can you find ROFR thread?

thanks twinklebug!! I will check it out.

If it were me, for a single contract that large, I would stay with a cheap offer. If they won't sell for 50, move on to the next one. Is this an extended OKW or a standard 2042 contract? If Extended + $4

...just my opinion.

OP- When does the contract you are bidding on end?

I would bid in the 40's. I just had an offer accepted that's in ROFR now for VWL 150 pt contract all 2011,2012,2013 points for $52/pt.
Buyer closing, seller 2011 MF's.

Personally I would do no less than counter back with the original offer and if they don't accept look for a different contract. The contract is a bit stripped - ie, you aren't getting all of the current year points. What's happening with the MF's on the 2011 points?

The rub is that DVC has ROFR'd a few OKW contracts at lower prices but I'd still go for it and if DVC takes it back then look for a different one.

OP here, thanks for all the advice. I was thinking to hold at my offer, but really wanted some other opinions. The contract is an original contract, expires in 2042, no mf until 2012.

If you go with this contract, make sure they bank the 2011 points by Oct. 31! (It's unlikely you would close in time to get a reservation before they expired at the end of Feb.)
