Is there such thing as a "Satanic" hairstyle?

I was watching the Early Show this morning while feeding DS and they were discussing the shooting on the indian reservation that happened yesterday (I think). They said one of the identifying factors was that the kid had a 'Satanic' hairstyle. Then they showed his picture. Looked like a pretty normal haircut to me.

LOL, I've never heard of such a thing. Maybe I should look it up and make sure I don't have a Satanic haircut.

I do remember back in the early 90's when guys had words shaved into their heads hearing about a guy with 666 shaved on the back of his head. That's the only "Satanic haircut" I can think of.

I saw the same story and picture on one of the other morning shows. I think that what they were refering to what the fact that he his head was either shaved or slicked down really good except for the two pieces that had enough dipty doo to make "horns" stand up on his head. Of course, after they showed that picture, the news media had to show the cartoon he created that killed everyone off and bombed a police car. Might had something to do with that. The whole thing is just tragic.

Oh I know..I switched the channel right after they started showing it and it was like it was on EVERY channel except PBS and chanell 21, which was showing the 700 club.

Shame on you, Beth. Mullets are not evil. Some people look quite nice in them.


goofy..the only picture I saw of him was with his hair slicked back no horns made with dippitydo. That's why I was confused.

Oh I know..it makes me think of the wierd hairdo that the guy who ended up playing Dr. Benton on ER had when he was in "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy.

Yes, the picture I saw looked like he had two little horns on top of his head - small pigtail-like things (did you see Adam on last season's Amazing Race - that kind of look, although on him it looked like little girl pigtails!).

That's the only thing I could think of too! And since DS and DH are both trying to sport mullets it's a sore spot in this house. I swear I'm going to shave their heads while they sleep.

Hmmm...well my mom had a big 'ole perm in the 80's. That was pretty satanic...because only the devil could have convinced her to get that hairstyle!

I think that anyone who saw this kid walking around would've been able to quickly and correctly guess that there were deep, deep issues at play ... what was your gut feeling when you glanced at this picture? He was in goth, he wore a black trench coat and black eye makeup to school with that picture - the NYT says the other kids teased him for it ... with that hair, what do you feel for the kid? I felt a flash of worry when I first saw the pic, and I knew how the story ended already ...

I would think he just a wierd haistyle..nothing 'Satanic" about that to me. But then again..I hang out with people who have some pretty out-there hairstyles so that kind of thing seems normal to me. I know one guy who dyed his hair bright yellow and then dyed leopard spots into it.

Well honestly, I knew guys who had hair like that, spiked up, in high school. And they never shot anyone...I think it's all a matter of perception. Some people would look at that and think "Oh man that kid has problems" and others would think nothing of it.
