Is there really no August 2013 thread yet?

Happy Dance...

2 rooms at Beach Club for 6 nights for 2 adults, 4 children, plus 4 base park tickets. I priced it through disney and it would be $6500. But we are paying $3700!! thanks for the info on ***!!

did you just book the beach club? I wanted that but it was sold out and wnt for the yacht club,.

Funny as I originally was gonna do yacht club as thats what the special said (yacht or grand floridian) but was told the yacht club was sold out and I got the beach club for the same price. I prefer the beach club over yacht club but once I saw no free dining I was gonna be happy with either at that price, especially when we need 2 rooms!

From what I understand, the agency books blocks of rooms at each resort. By booking large groups of rooms as a block (kind of like when someone books a block of rooms for a conference or a wedding), Disney discounts the overall price for the agency. They then pass the savings on to their customers.

The packages include the same tickets you would get if you booked a Magic Your Way package through Disney. You can choose how many days you want and whether or not you want park hoppers.

Regarding free dining, no that cannot be added. You typically cannot have two discounts applied to the same reservation. One of the August deals with *** (the Labor Day one) does not allow you to even add the dining plan at regular cost (fine for us, since we do not do a lot of sit down meals).

I believe if free dining does come out for your dates, they could re-evaluate you reservation and might be able to book you into the deal that saves you the most money.

I don't think the tickets are the same as you cannot upgrade/change them. I think they are more like yes tickets in that they are discounted and therefore not upgradable. Just a minor point though.

I think we may be rethinking our plan. DH is stressed from work and threw a minor "it's expensiiiive" hissy fit tonight. I was able to calm him down..by promising we could shorten our stay, adjust dates a little to save $$ on airfare, cancel most of our ADRs and rely primarily on CS dining. I am a little sad about leaving the YC behind, but it will give us a chance to stay at AoA LM section, hunt down the best, most non-burger CS there is, put a little more into savings to buy a home after I graduate...and be at Disney. I can't complain too hard. The YC will be there when we're ready for it. Now I can't decide if I want to book on my own and cancel with ***, or ask them to just change our ressie for us.

We originally booked 8 nights with 8 day park hopper plus watermarks at POP Century for 2 adults $2000 for our honeymoon. The deal we got for the same nights and tickets through *** at YC was only $300 more. Unbelievable!

I just got a quote thru *** for our dates in August. We are currently at Pop. Which is not available for this promotion :(. However, All Star Sports is - comes in $400 cheaper. And a moderate comes in at $190 more than our current Pop reservation.

I emailed back asking for quotes for AKL/WL and to see if another mod had availability...we are not huge fans of POR.

But DANG! That pricing is off the hook!! Our quote included 10 nights, 8 day hoppers, and 1 day admittance to a water park or DisneyQuest (which my kids have been BEGGING to do and I am too cheap to do it - so SCORE!).

Anyone here have a guess as to what a deluxe might be for 10 nights/8 day hoppers for 2 adults, 2 kids (6, 9).

Thanks!

AKL standard room for 10 nights, 2 adults, 2 kids with 8 day park hoppers during two weeks in August would run you about $4700.00. That would not include any admissions to a water park or Disney Quest.

Edited to add: Are you currently dealing with the 16 inches of snow in Minnesota that every news agency in New York is going on and on about right now?

Was AKL included with the *** specials? I thought it was just Yacht Club and GF so I was surprised when we got the Beach club.

How long did it take people to hear back from ***? I sent a request for a quote 3 days ago and haven't heard anything.

If you haven't checked your junk mail, do it. Did you get the first e-mail immediately after the request thanking you for contacting Magical Travel? Either way, I think I would call or e-mail again after this wait if nothing is in your junk mail.

I put in a request about 3:30pm day one, my quote came in the next morning. I called and left a message that I wanted to book, and then followed up right away with an e-mail. Got a phone call right away, Samantha (my agent) was not sure that my request would be available so I let her know we had some flexibility with our 2 room 8 night request. Disney's systems were down at the time so she told me she would let me know when she could get through. Before the disboards reported that Disney's systems were back up I got the call that we got our first choice of dates. We are very happy with our room only reservation for 2 standard rooms at Yacht Club Resort for 8 nights at $3041.92. Our original intention for this trip was free dining, as we will have 7 Disney adults for dining, but we figured if we are going to have to pay more either way it is great to get to stay at Yacht Club instead of the Moderate that was originally the plan.

I think I sent my request late in the day, got a standard confirmation email right away, and heard back the next morning.

Thanks! And - the line of snow that went through was CRAZY! We had NOTHING and less then 2 miles away - they had 13 inches!!!!! The line of none/lots was so thin! Our weather never makes the news - crazy that it has!! Schools were closed all over the place...but it was like a spring day at my house!

It is just BC, AllSt Sports, and Riverside.

It sounds like we are going to go with Riverside. For $152.24 more than we are currently paying, we get a moderate, covered bus stops (great in August heat), queen beds, theme pool, and admittance to a water park for 1 day or DQ for a day. It is worth it.

Now - anyone who has used *** and actually taken their Agent Exclusive trip - were there any glitches or anything? Nervous since I have never used it and it seems "too good to be true", ya know?

Thanks! I put in another request for a quote and made a note in the comments that I already have a request in. Don't want to make anyone do double work if I missed the email.

On another note...Hi donnainnj, I'm also Donna from NJ! :thumbsup2

Just booked with *** for 8-nights at the Yacht Club from 8/30/-9/7. Meg was my agent and she was awesome! :cool1:

They must not like me! I put another request in this morning and still nothing.

Are you getting the automatic email response? I sent a couple of requests and didn't get that. Then I realized there were fields I hadn't filled out - you have to look really hard for the message saying you didn't fill out everything. Once I did that, I got an automated "we got your request and it will be filled soon" type email. Then, I got my quote within hours. (Sadly, it doesn't work for me, but it was worth a shot!)

Is anyone getting prices at mods for the beginning/middle of August that are better than the special offers at the WDW site? I submitted a price request from *** but just got the email that they will be in touch shortly.
