We are now thinking of going for 10 day instead of 7 is there enough to do for 10 days?

Most definetly!!! Theres at least two days worth in Magic Kingdom, factor in a couple of days by the pool and a visit to the water parks, and you'll soon find that there is MORE THAN ENOUGH! We usually go for twelve of more days :')

I'm worried I'm going to run out of time in a 14 day trip! But my husband wants to do a couple of mornings at Universal, and we have got a lot of ADRs.

Absolutely! We are booked for 10 days in Jan 2014. Marathon weekend falls in the middle of our trip. We will be renting a car & visiting friends who recently retired & will be there for the winter as well as a high school friend who also lives nearby. But this wasn't always what we did. When my kids were younger we enjoyed "pool time". It gave all of us a chance to re-energize. Now I have made my "Disney Bucket List". I have done park tours, checked out other resorts, walked at Fort Wilderness and actually taken time to enjoy whatever park I'm at when I'm there. There was so much time & spent on the details that when you're there for just a short period of time you miss them & some are REALLY wonderful.

The beauty of a longer trip is not only that there is PLENTY to do, but that you can go at a bit of more leisurely pace and really enjoy all the experiences. You'll still have more restaurants than you can eat at, more attractions/shows than you can take it, etc. In our ideal world, we'd love to go for two weeks but the most we've managed so far has been 9 days -- and that was definitely not enough time!

although we haven't taken a 10 day trip since we had our children, When my wife and I were dating we went for 10 days. And let me tell you, It was so enjoyable. There was no rush we had no schedule. Sat and had morning coffee, strolled to breakfast, made our way to the parks, and didn't miss a single thing. I think one of our favorite things was to just find a bench, sit people watch, and check out the detail that DW puts into everything (ie window dressings on main street) Now if children are involved I'm sure it will be a little different but just have time to stroll through the parks with no pressure is wonderful. So in the long There is so much to see and do. I look forward to planning our 10 day trip. Let us know how you made out after your trip. I think your going to pleasantly surprised. :thumbsup2

There are a few things we want to do and can't fit into a 32 WDW vacation! :lmao: There is PLENTY to do in a 10 day vacation at WDW.

Yes. We did an 8 day trip last time and it just was not enough time :( we had water park and more option. Could easily spend a day in disney quest. We put aside 4 hours for Dq and had to drag the kids out. My son begged to go back after dinner. We also did a day at islands of adventure, which I would highly recommend. If I could do a longer vacation I would devote another day for universal. We also did one water park. I would have gladly done another day at the second water park if we had had the time. And believe me you do need a hotel pool day. My kids loved hanging at the pool, and the hotel had games going on poolside all day. We did mini golf on our pool day. Go as long as you can!!!

I dream of staying more than my usual 8 days when I retire. That would be a dream to stay longer.

I go the week after Thanksgiving; Saturday to Saturday. I am half tempted to fly down Wednesday night, stay over at the airport and get there bright and early Thursday morning and check-in, I am already on vacation and even if I just hung out at the resort until everyone started leaving Saturday after noon, it would still be great to have those two extra days to do absolutely nothing....

We have done 18 nights and loved it. Give you time to enjoy the resorts as well as the parks

Absolutely. We like to do a day at each of the WDW parks, a second day at Epcot, a day or two at Universal parks, go to Downtown Disney, and we need a day or two to sleep in and go with the flow. 10 days is not really enough for all of that, and we don't even mess with the water parks usually. We'd like to go to Discovery Cove but haven't found the time yet. But our last family trip was 10 days, and I found out that is long enough, my kids were ready to go home. I could have stayed though! I think especially if you go in summer, you need more days so you're not killing yourself running around in the heat. We're going in August and I think we'll do 9 days this time. Maybe that's the sweet spot.

If I had 10 days I would do 2 days at MK, 2 days at EP, 1 day at HS and 1 at AK. I would also do 1 day at BB and 1 day at TL. Add in another HS morning, Disney Quest, mini golf, the Boardwalk (including JellyRolls our favorite dueling pianos bar!), and a night at DTD and you have more then enough to fill 10 days and nights :)

If I were you I'd try to take in a dinner show, either HDDR or the Luau. And I'd try to do the campfire over at Fort Wilderness. Maybe also pick out a not so common activity, a tour, rent a boat, go parasailing or fishing.

10 days would be my dream trip! I've never been for more than 5 full days :sad1: Disney world has such a ray of activities avaliable and someday I would like to try them all!

We just completed a 21 day trip in Feb/Mar and it wasn't enough time so we're going back for F&W in September - the ENTIRE F&W excluding the closing weekend. 6 weeks, but we may have to drop about 10 days because something else is tentatively planned at home during the last 10 days. All lodging is paid and I'm not sure I can get a refund! Oh well.

Remember that there are 6 parks when you add in the water parks.

However, one of the most commonly forgotten things about DIsney is that there is so much more than just the parks.

If you don't have kids, there are behind the scenes tours. They happen in the parks, but some take most of the day.

There is water boating, parasailiing, fishing, regular sailing, jetskies, surfing lessons, etc.
beaches, pools
Diowntown Disney
The Richard Petty Experience
World of sports
Miniature golf
regular golf (PGA tour courses)
Spa's
Outdoor movies
campfires
arts and crafts, storytime, etc at many of the hotels

and that's just scratching the surface.

You could do something different every day for a month and not run out of things to do. Easily. Probably longer.

The real question is: how many, what age and what interests are in the family?

Oh, and if you get stuck for stuff to do there is always Universal, Seaworld, and tons of other places to see in Orlando and the surrounding area

We could easily spend 10 nights in WDW without leaving the property...

Our stays have averaged 7-9 nights, we enjoy the extra time to relax and enjoy the resorts offerings, boats and water activities...

No rushing thru the parks either with the extra time... We're usually AP holders so popping in and put a park is how we roll, just for a hot dog and pop corn, longer stays gives us that advantage...

Bored in 10 nights, hardly... Could live there really !

We stay a minimum 10 days when we go. Even if you hang out at the resorts, DTD, or go shopping, you're still on vacation! Enjoy it!!
