Is there really a credit if you waive cleaning?

My sister saw on a blog they value and moderate hotels, you can get a $10/night credit if you waive cleaning. We have been to Disney many times but never heard this. Is this true and we just never knew this or is this made up? Curious how it works if it is true?

Yes it is true
You need to go to the Front Desk and decline Mousekeeping. You will get a $10/ night minus one gift card to use

Say you’re staying five nights at a moderate or value resort, you can opt out of mousekeeping for four of the five nights. You’ll receive a digital gift card via email for $40 in this case.

It's not only true, it's been true for several years. They were good at calling/notifying everyone who stayed Value or Mod but it seems to now do it off online check in

Don't even have to go to front desk. You can do it during the latest version of online check in
I don't think deluxe resorts offer it? Maybe someone else can clarify
This is correct.
