Hi am I reading it correctly that unless you have 50 posts on the rent/trade board you must pay a fee to advertise that you are renting your points? Is there any other boards that I can list with that do not cost anything? Thanks--:goodvibes

You are misreading the new rules. This is from the post regarding the option to purchase posting capability on the Rent/Trade Board:
Also a reminder that you may still submit a new thread to the Rent/Trade board without cost if you meet the requirement of 50 non-Rent/Trade posts evenly distributed over the previous 6 months.

It's 50 non-Rent/Trade posts.

Sorry that's what I meant. I have not posted 50 times on that board. I just don't do it since I don't need it. So I have to have 50 posts of some kind or pay a fee?

You need 50 posts on a board besides. You have over 300 posts so you are fine.

It's more complicated than 50 posts. It's 50 posts, of meaningful content, spread out over a period of time (think it was 6 months) outside the Rental board. I'm sure the details are on the Rent/Trade board.

Actually, as I understand the rule it's 50 posts of a substantive (contributory--not just "welcome home's") nature more or less evenly spread over 6 months...so the OP may have 300 posts, but are they evenly spread over the last 6 months?

I am confused. Sorry. That just doesn't seem right. Now I know why the boards don't look as full as they use to (rent/trade board). I guess I will try to google another board since my thread was denied due to this new rule. I love the disboards and recommend them all the time. :(

As a renter a kind of agree to the 50 post rule. You are really dealing with a trust issue with that kind of transaction. At least with some post under your belt both the moderators and potential renters or renters can kind of get a feel for the poster. It's not a no fail solution but I think it is helpful

As the original intent of the Rent/Trade board was for it to be a place where active members of the DIS Community could come to rent points or reservations, or make transfers, new posting rules became effective February 1, 2011. In order to post a new thread without paying a fee, the DVC R/T Board requires a minimum of 50 non-Rent/Trade board posts distributed evenly over the past 6 months.

Effective April 18, 2011, we offer an option that allows users to make a nominal payment to access the Rent/Trade board if they are unable to meet the posting requirements. See this webpage for details.

At this time, no further changes to the DVC Rent/Trade Board policies are anticipated for the near future.

For more info, please see the sticky thread with the Rent/Trade board rules.

Thanks.
