Is there gambling on any Disney Cruise (East Coast)??

I completely agree! I rarely gamble, occasionally on a Vegas trip but have had trips their with no gambling. That being said, I'm not quite sure why people are so bothered by something happening in an area they are not required to go to. I have a casino a few miles from my house but I haven't been there in years so I'm pretty sure if a small one was on the boat it wouldn't effect me. I do like that there isn't one but it wouldn't change my experience if it was there because the cruise gives me the option of doing what I want.

Because the layout of some ships (Holland America's ms Westerdam comes to mind) places the casino (open with no doors on either side...where smoking is allowed when playing, so it reeks of smoke even when "closed") in the most direct route to such things as the dining room so unless you want (or have the ability) to go up and down or down and up to avoid it, you can't. You HAVE to walk through it.

Yes there is gambling on the Disney Ships.

I like to bring dice and apply them with guys in Europa, also three card Monty on deck.

Another DCL cruiser HAPPY there is no casino on board and the space is taken up by something else. Extra room for the Kids Clubs, family lounge area, whatever!!!!

For me and my family, casinos and family-friendly just don't go together. I'm delighted Disney is casino-free.

that would totally just suck! that is why I am going Disney, cannot stand casinos or smoking!

Well, you could go with Celebrity. The do have the casino, but they are EXACTLY as non-smoking as Disney is. (smoking sections outside only...though Dream's deck four smoking section leaves a bit to be desired as it's right along the area early-morning people use for jogging)

And the one in the adult area (Dream/Fantasy) is right as you come up the stairs. I wish they had put it on the side without the stairs because as it is you cannot get to the top deck adult area without walking through it. :/

I'm sure that one could play for, ahem, "jellybeans" among friends if you really needed a fix. I For one have never played Catan for "jellybeans" but I suppose someone must have.

Can you smoke in any cruise line casino anymore?

Holland America's casinos are smoking as long as you're playing. (Not surprising as they have just about the most liberal smoking policy of any cruiseline - which is why my cousins pretty much sail them exclusively).

Royal Caribbean says that they allow smoking in the casino and "have an area for non-smoking guests" though unless one is in a ventilated glass box, I'm not sure how the non-smokers don't smell it.

Those are the two lines other than Disney I have some knowledge of.

Whew! It looks like I am caught up with requests. If I missed a request, please let me know. It does happen.

On the Allure one side was smoking and the other side (plus I believe the poker room) was non-smoking. Which was fine if you were playing slots, but the table games were more or less in the centre so you'd smell the smoke. Not so bad that you could figuratively "taste" the cigarettes but enough that you knew it was there.

With that said, in 2007 on a Princess cruise there was maybe one non-smoking table in the casino. Also maybe one non-smoking pool on the deck (although technically half the deck was supposed to be non-smoking). So progress, I suppose.

I think the lack of an income-generating casino definitely impacts cruise price. I like that casino space is given over to kids clubs, etc. I'm not against gambling but I'm against me losing money doing it. So no casino is okay with me!
