Is there Fast Pass for character greetings?

My friend and her family just got back from WDW yesterday. She said there appeared to be something like fast pass with the character greetings because some families did not have to wait in the line and were allowed to just walk up to the front. Is there Fast Pass for character greetings and I just didn't know it?

Uh, never heard of any fast passes for character greetings. Might those people have just been cutting? I've seen it happen more than once... some people think they are too special for lines apparently.

Were those people escorted by CM's? If so perhaps they were Make a Wish kids/etc?

More than likely they were a family with the Make a Wish Foundation.

We saw quite a few families with children with disabilities or organizations like Make a Wish get escorted to the head of the line when we were there in June.

Thanks for the responses. I also though they were maybe Make A Wish families, but my friend said that when they had to close a long line for the character's break that a CM apologized to her for taking a family behind hers and explained they were Make A Wish. Of course my friend understood, she wouldn't want to see that child wait again in the sun for the same character and as she explained to her DS, she was just happy her kids were healthy and that meant more than Disney and all it's characters. Another DISer suggested the character's family or VIP families and I'm guessing that's what it was. Not all VIP's are famous and recognizable (they are the lucky ones -- to have perks and anonymity!).
