Is there DCL transportation for Fort Lauderdale port/airport?

If you haven't cruised out of Port Everglades before, note that the airport and many of the hotels are literally right next to the Port. We've cruised out of there a bunch of times (mainly on Princess, but once on DCL) and we generally find that Uber/Lyft is the way to go. If you take a shared shuttle, you may be waiting for quite awhile...

I am only guessing that they would pick your luggage up in advance at a WDW resort. The Hyatt is IN the airport and DCL uses part of their lobby so might be a special case? Kinda doubt they do it for hotels you book “through” them? But someone will know.

PP is correct though. The Port is maybe 10 minutes from most hotels and the airport. Debarking there is a very well organized taxi queue.

I will second this. My parents cruised out of Port Everglades and did a shuttle. They were the first ones picked up and the last ones dropped off, so it was over an hour on the shuttle itself (for what is typically a 10-15 minute trip). They decided in Port Everglades the shuttle isn't worth it.

I’m not sure there’s any guarantees, but we were hoping for an earlier boarding group if we used the DCL transportation. I’m seeing mixed feedback though on if you’ll still get an early BG by using them.

Yeah, you’d probably get a lower BG, but it’s generally not a huge amount of extra time. Is there a pressing reason for wanting to get on a little early? I’d say you might gain an hour at most. But cabins don’t open until later for everyone and there’s always food available.

We were one of the first boarding groups on the Treasure earlier this year, and it was just nice to get on a newer ship early and explore before it gets packed.

This. We usually stay at a Hyatt Place that is sooo close to the port. It's like $9 to Uber to the port, not including tip.

We stayed at Marriott Harbor Beach last weekend and used DCL transportation for our cruise on the Dream. I’m a Marriott loyalist, but this hotel was a nightmare. Had to change rooms three times in two nights - everything from an ant infestation to an AC that didn’t work. On-site management was horrible to deal with.

Transportation wasn’t much better. Assigned PAT of 11:15 and BG 4. Met in the hotel lobby - there were just 14 people total on the transfer. Yet, somehow, a mom and two kids managed to wander off. So we were all delayed leaving. (DCL rep finally found them in the Starbucks.)

The bus ride was also a mess. Traffic was a disaster, and our bus driver was beyond timid. He ended up driving way out of the way trying to avoid traffic (and failing). By the time we finally got to the port, DCL was already on BG 9. We would have been much better off to just take an Uber.

We’re sailing out of Fort Lauderdale again next December on the Destiny, and I can guarantee you we won’t go back to the Marriott there.
