I'll be in Disney for Thanksgiving week. I was looking into the Candlelight Processional dining packages. I'll be on the deluxe dining plan. I was surprised to see that it's an extra dining credit to eat at the restaurants for the package when Fantasmic is not. I would prefer to pay cash instead for that reason since it includes an app. too. In the list for the 2011 restaurants, it says recommended next to some of them. I was wondering if there was a reason for this or if there is any benefit of choosing one restaurant over another other than price and food preference. I was planning on eating at Via Napoli anyway for lunch on our trip. It seems like that would be the most reasonably priced for the package.

As far as the Candlelight Processional itself, then no, there is no benefit for one restaurant over another. Where you sit at the CP is based on when you get in line, not where you eat. So you can pick the restaurant based on price or your food taste.

Thanks. It seemed like they were just recommending the higher priced for less food places, but wanted to confirm that

We went through the same decision process when we made ADRs for our Dec 2011 trip. We had the regular dining plan. I had a hard time deciding if I should choose the most expensive (dinner @ Tepan Edo) and use two credits or the least expensive (lunch @ Biergarten) and pay OOP. When I ran all the numbers for all our ADRs that week, I decided it was most cost effective to choose the least expensive Candlelight Processional dining package and pay OOP. We had lunch at Biergarten and loved it - wonderful food AND a stage show AND reserved seats for the CP 5:00 show. It was money well spent. The only issue with a lunch package is you are limited to the 5:00 show. It was not quite dark when it started so the candles didn't really stand out/glow when the chior marched in. That's the only downside I could see.
