is there anyway

My wallet was stolen a week before our last trip to WDW in September. I called TSA and was told that although my temporary license would probably be accepted, it would be up to the local security agent at my gate to make that decision. All acceptable forms of ID include the Real ID benchmark and the paper temporary license didn't have that of course.

You will be issued a temporary license as soon as you go to the DMV. Well, not as soon as, you may have to wait in line an extremely long line. :headache: It is the closest legal document you can get right now, it seems.

You should get this done first thing on Monday as people who are just finding out they do not have a valid license will also be standing in line. Lines will probably be longer the closer to Thanksgiving.

If I recall correctly, FL is considered a major terrorist state, (I guess they like warm weather and WDW :confused3 ) so security may be tighter than in otrher states. Also, right around the holidays is when they beef up precautions. The LAST thing this country needs is an act of terrorism during national holiday travel. Airport security may be told "No Exceptions at this time of year."

I have lost my ID once and had my purse stolen another time. I was at the DMV the next morning. I was a nervous wreck even driving there with DL. My DMV issues the permanent DL on the spot.

If you order a replacement online, I think it can take 3 or 4 weeks or more.

Why don't you just go down Monday and get it taken care of? Have you been driving around with no license? You could get in a bit of trouble if you ever got stopped.
Also, it's been 2 weeks now. I would have made that a top priority.

I don't drive I take the bus everywhere and I get on free with a student ID

Seems rather silly that you are waiting several weeks to take care of something that should have been done immediately.

However in Florida you can actually renew or replace your license/ID online.

Anyone who is a Florida resident should be familiar with the My Florida website.

And for licenses specifically: License info

Identification Cards Online
You may apply online using the GoRenew for the following Identification Card services:

* Original ID card if you already have a license record on file.
* Renewal ID Card.
* Replacement ID Card if yours was lost/stolen/destroyed or if you need an address change.

Note: Giving false information on an application for a driver license or identification card is a third degree felony which may result in arrest, and includes a one-year suspension of the driving privilege. Proof of correct address may be required, for example, cancelled mail envelope received.

It's amazing what one can discover by actually using the Internet & Google ;)

NOT TRUE!

Please read the link I provided from the TSA.

Posting this question on the Transportation Board would have netted very different responses. This questions comes up quite often, and many of the posters there have the facts close at hand.

darlak I am quite certain can relate her experience when she posted the question, and the responses which she received.

OP, why don't you post it there as well, and people can give you the facts like crashbb did. It may require some extra time and effort, but one can fly on a domestic US flight without ID in most cases.

I was starting to think my posts were going up in invisible ink.

Thanks for the back up.

I said it before; I have noticed a few people answering transportation questions which are black and white incorrectly on a somewhat regular basis. I would like to think that they are doing it from misguided kindness and not some bizarre form of malice.

These are not advice type questions; usually there is only one correct answer.
