Is there anything else I need to arrange, decide or monitor?!

Ok.. so haven't been to Disney since paper fastpasses... going in late August 2016. My research so far...

1) I have booked my dining - may get Mama Melrose for Fantasmic now that the preferred seating is in a better location. Not sure what to do about Wishes. Need to figure out viewing area that is not a FP area. Got a BOG lunch... must pre-order in July

2) Waiting for free dining for Canadian residents to be announced end of April (fingers crossed) I must have hoppers whether I want them or not...correct? (will WP and more suffice?) May move to a moderate if free dining... thinking CSR BC because POR is usually excluded from what I hear. No free dining = a Value stay... probably the Pop vs All star Music... still leaning toward Music (afraid of those double beds) Damn Canadian dollar

3) Must book fastpasses at 60 days out (onsite stay). Hoping Soarin' and Frozen ride will be running :) but BTMR is closed at this time I think :( Still researching a strategy for this.

4) Waiting for this Rivers of Light event to be announced for Tusker House preferred seating

5) Waiting to see if late Emh is a goner do to the new MK paid event... my kids are finally old enough to stay up late

6) Waiting to see if the new fireworks at HS will be offered (are they a sure thing now?) Need to find a good viewing area I can get to quickly after Fantasmic.

7) Decided against messing around with extra Magic Bands for SDFP+

8) New rides: 7DMT, Frozen in Epcot, new TT, new Soarin' , New little mermaid ride in MK, Double Dumbos

Geez... Is their anything else I need to monitor/make a decision about? Disney is getting complicated!:scared:

Thanks :flower1:

Wait a week or so, I am sure something (else) big will change in that time. ;)

OMG my wine Lol. Thanks LoveThatMouse.... the summer is going to be rough! Can't take my kids out of school anymore... they're in highschool now.

This may not be quite as necessary once you can book 4th+ FP+ on the app/website. Anyway, they usually only get you mediocre stuff anyway. A good plan is more important. Good luck

Unless something has changed, you can pre-order your BOG lunch that morning - you don't really have to do it in July unless of course you prefer to.

We are also coming from Canada, planning for a late August, early September family trip (essentially 6 adults as the kids are older now) and praying for free dining. The whole family hasn't gone together since 2009 but have been fortunate to have done many trips since 2003. We went out on a limb and booked dining, although we haven't booked a hotel/package yet. We got all the places we want, including BOG. Hoping to get a PIN as we have in the past. I didn't realize that BTMR was scheduled to be closed during our visit? I knew Soaring was a maybe. Also, I don't believe previous Canadian free dining hasn't required purchasing the WP option. We are planning on staying in a value (2 rooms but yucky double beds) and upgrading one room to table service dining. This will allow us some table service meals but we won't be as tied down. Nice thing about the kids being older is they are doing a lot of the planning....of course hubby and I are still doing all of the paying. Fingers crossed for end of April:)

FP for Wishes and parades is suppose to be discontinued. So you do not have to worry about that any longer. I am betting though, the areas are going to be used for a price. I do have to say, they did a nice job around the castle with the expansion.

I can't wait to see the 'new' MK and castle are OhMari, but sad to see the best seats going for a price......... TinklovesOlaf64, I read somewhere that they changed the refurb dates to coincide with our vacay but I could be wrong. Hoping to not have to get the parkhoppers... we did not use them our last trip... but we are a WP family :fish:Crossing my toes for the end of April too.... so much uncertainty with Disney lately!!! Trying to keep it a secret from the kids... they are teens now so it is a lot harder... they are listening more than I think they are... except when it comes to chores!! hahaha

Not necessary but you might want to.....
> Customize your MagicBands (you can get purple now!)
> Do online resort check-in (available 60 days before your arrival date)
