Is there anything at Biergarten that resembles a regular hot dog?

DS6 is VERY picky. He will not eat sausage, which it appears Biergarten has lots of. Do any of the sausages look and taste more like a hot dog?

Thanks.

My younger brother (9) is UNBELIEVABLY picky as well. We actually got him a "frankfurter" at Sommerfest in German Pavilion last trip and he loved it! Just ask for no saurkraut, and some spicy brown mustard :)

Beirgarten has Knockwurst on their buffet...they are basically hot dogs but shorter and fatter.

yes Germany has the Frankfurter, BUT they are not the same as a regular HOT DOG. The casing is different and I think the color. Depending on how picky DS6 is, this might be a strike out. My DS12 made comments about it, but still ate it. He is super picky.

They do have frankkfurters in the buffet and Sommerfest (outdoors) has a choice of bratwurst or frankfurters. We will probably go down this Saturday and I plan on checking out the hot dogs there and at the new hot dog stand by the rose garden in World Showcase near Canada to see if either is a real hot dog or the chicken blend currently used all over WDW. I will report back with my findings.

Thanks so much! I hope he'll eat something other than the desserts.

I despise sausages and anything in the sausage family and I found plenty to eat at the Biergarten. I was very surprised at how many choices I found to eat there! I was expecting to go hungry and then grab a CS snack lateron and I ended up walking out of the Biergarten feeling stuffed!

I'm with you, minniebride when it comes to sausages. Would you mind telling us what else on the menu you liked?
We have a lunch ADR in August.
I'm of German descent & love things like schnitzel, spaetzle, etc - but don't care for sauerkraut (I know, I'm a heretic), sausage, etc.
Would love to hear what you had....

There is schnitzel (chicken), sauerbraten, regular roast beef carved to order, some kind of meatloaf, as I recall (but not like real German leberkase) ... there is no way you can leave here hungry. The salads are great (including some wonderful herring), as are the pretzel rolls, and of course the desserts are delicious.

If I remember correctly, the "hot dogs" on the buffet at Biergarten were larger than a regular hot dog and served cold and sliced. There was another hot dog-like sausage that was warm. Here's a link to my dining review of Biergarten with pictures.
