Is there anyone not doing a TS everyday?

I left 2 out of 6 dinners open from ADRs and I made one lunch ADR.
It's me and my best friend, and while we enjoy having a plan, I made all the ADRs and I can't imagine her having to sit through everyone of the dinners that *I* picked.
While I like having a plan, I want some wiggle-room. Besides, I know I'll probably be calling Disney Dining the day of and seeing what they have available.
I got ADRs for all the restaurants I wanted, except for the CA Grill. Maybe I can get one while I'm there, maybe I can't.

It is a little too much food, but we managed to do 1TS a day ... eat light breakfast, CS early and TS fairly late ... but not too late. One night we ate at a non-dining plan restaurant which left us with one TS (each) which we used for breakfast our last day. That was kind of nice!

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you can use a TS credit for a CS meal -- or even for a snack if you want to. Disney doesn't mind you trading the credits down in value. So, if you don't want a TS everyday, you could use some of those credits to help with your CS meals.

we don't do TS every day either - we usually go in august and nobody usually wants to eat that much food in that heat

we usually do breakfast in our room before heading out for the day, then one meal a day - either CS or TS with a snack during the day or a dessert at night

and if anyone is still hungry at the end of the night there's always a piece of fruit or a bowl of cereal awaiting us in our room

I have found from past experience that it is a necessity to have one TS meal reserved a day. It does take more planning on my part but it is MUCH easier to do the planning than deal with 5 hot, hungry people standing around saying..where do you want to eat, no I dont want to eat there, look at that line!, etc, etc.

I had "most" of our ADR's booked before the free dining promotion came out....my problem now is that I have two days that I have a TS breakfast AND a TS dinner. We will skip lunch on those days and pay OOP for the breakfasts.

I really LOVE knowing that we have a cool place waiting for us.....

on a 21 night stay we only have 13 TS meals confirmed.... It is just too much for us in that kind of heat, so I'd rather grab 2 smaller CS during the day than have a sit down ....

We do TS every day .. sometimes 2 in one day. On our last trip of 6 nights/5 days, we dined at TS places 9 times and CS once. We order appetizers sometimes, split entrees every once in awhile and almost always have one dessert to share at dinner.

We typically have lunch in a park, but dinner is at a resort. We love slowing down and enjoying a really good meal.

You can see why the dining plan would not work for us. Thank goodness for the DDE! :goodvibes

1 day we are not as we will be using 2 ts credits at California Grill for my birthday/our anniversary dinner. :cool1:

My mom and I have 1 TS planned for each day of our September trip.

For our December trip, however, DH and decided not to do a TS meal everyday. We have 2 days with no TS meals planned. We do have 2 days with 2 TS meals planned (one day is lunch at Coral Reef & dinner at Le Cellier and the other is an early breakfast at MK and dinner at 1900 Park Fair)

We really struggle with the fact that we really enjoy the TS meals but often that we feel limited or controlled by having all these set plans.

I really wished that they woul dgo to a system that did allow for planning but also kept seats available for walk-ups. I think a system where they offered ADRs for half the seats and left the other half open for walk-ups would be a perfect system. I think the whole ADR system is getting out of control - geex where else do you plan where you want to eat 6 MONTHS in advance

This will be our 2nd trip on the DDP and we have one day with 2CS and another day with 2 TS (early breakfast/late dinner).

I think if you had been to Disney a few (or more) times before the DDP came along and had established a pattern of snacking/eating that works for your family it would be more difficult to enjoy the plan because you'd be thinking of everything you're missing out on. For us, we don't know any different so we're really looking forward to using our TS each day.

We must be one of the odd families. We are staying for 7 nights and have only made one ADR for the FDP (and we are considering cancelling that one) We just like to eat on the fly when we get hungry. On our last trip we stayed 6 nights and only had one ADR too!
