Is there any way to walk from MK to the TTC?

We are tired of standing in the long lines for monorails and ferries to get from the Magic Kingdom back to our car at the TTC. Does anybody know if there is a way to walk back -- either to the Contemporary and then on to the TTC, or around the other way via the Grand Floridian and Polynesian? We don't mind a loooong walk; the evenings are pleasant and we like the stroll, but standing in the sweaty herd for an hour really takes the glow off a magical day.

Any idea if there's a path?

Thanks!

I don't think so. Definitely not by the Grand Floridian. You cannot cross over the canal that way.

Nope, but if you pay to valet park at the contemporary you can park there all day.

You cannot walk via GF for sure-due to the canal, as previously mentioned by a previous poster.

Maybe you can walk from the MK to the TTC, but there is no path and it is probably very dangerous (and possibly illegal). Not sure here.

Some other possible options (don't necessarily involve a lesiurely stroll):

1) Walk to CR, and taxi to TTC.
2) Take resort launch/boat to GF, and walk to TTC via the Poly.
3) Take resort launch/boat to Poly, and walk to TTC.
4) Boat to Wliderness Lodge, then taxi to TTC.

Too bad Disney never finished the "Walk Around the World" (is that what it was called?). The thing where people bought blocks.

For me, my options would be:

1. Wait Option. Find a bench in front of the castle until the MK has been closed for about an hour then start heading out. By then either the monorail or ferry lines should be shorter.

2. Cannot Wait Options.
  • a. All lines at MK are packed: Walk to CR and then take the resort monorial to TTC. The line at CR might not be as bad and if you have to get in a packed car, it is only one stop.
  • b. See if the GF/Poly ferry is as bad as the monorail or TTC ferry. If not, then take it and then walk to TTC. Poly would be closer to TTC.
  • c. If resort monorail is moving faster than express, take it the two stops to TTC.

You can walk to CR and try to get on monorail. But the problem is the monorail is coming full of guests from MK so doubt this will help. Could try to take the boat to GF then get on monorail and ride to TTC. I doubt you'll save any time but I guess it could be fun if you don't want to wait in the big monorail line.

But getting on the monorail at GF won't help because the next stop is MK.

If you're going to boat to GF, just stay on the launch and it will take you to the Poly. Then walk to TTC.

You cannot walk safely from MK to the TTC. The sidewalk ends at the water bridge.

That is what we did both of our MK days. It worked out great!!! The lines to leave at the end of the night were a hot mess, it was nice to take the short walk and hop in the car and be on our way before we would have been close to boarding the WDW transportation.

More specifically, there is a sidewalk under the water bridge, but there's no sidewalk from MK or CR to the water bridge. And walking on the grass is not an option because of the construction of and around the new MK bus loop.

Hey, where the heck have you been??? I thought you were dead!!! Nice to hear from you! Stick around and chime in every so often!!!
I miss all my true transportation CMs!!!

... and snakes.

Don't want to be leaving anyone out....hi Lou!!

Stay on the pavement people. If there isn't a sidewalk, along that roadway, you aren't supposed to be walking there. It's pretty much common sense.

And honestly that distance is longer than it seems. It may not seem bad when you are in a vehicle but I'm not sure even if you could walk it that you would make it in a shorter time than a long wait for ferry or monorail.
