Is there any way to get any type of discount on AP?

We are headed to BCV on Sunday. So much for hoping for those survey's to get me a discount, so....

I wondered: is there anything/any way out there that I can puirchase an AP at a discounted price? I am not a Florida resident, just DVC, Disney VISA, etc.

I'm just hoping that there's something out there that I haven't thought of.

AAA will give you a small discount on an AP. If you are a member, go to the AAA office on Colonial/50 and buy the vouchers there.

DVC will get you a UMP discount.

Buy 130 points at SS and you will get 2 free passes. I'm still expecting the discounts within the next couple fo years.

If you have any friends in the military then you could get them to pick up AP vouchers for you. I'll be down with my mom in Oct. and she'll be getting mine and my dd's for me

Oh wow, thanks for posting this! I didn't think there was any way to get a cheaper AP, now I know two ways that we have access to wooohoo!!!!

Can you explain this a little more? Does the person in the military have to be on the trip with you? My DB is in the Army but is not going with us on the trip. Can he get the vouchers on the base and give it to me? Would I need ID? Thanks!

I just checked www.aaamidatlantic.com and there was no AAA discount for AP's They had some discounts for park hoppers but that was all. I then went to mousesaver.com and they confirmed that there is no discount on AP's.

I double checked the AP info for Military and mousesaver.com reports that there is a military discount for AP's *BUT* you must purchase the tickets at Shades of Green and then exchange them at a WDW booth.

So now I have a question about military relatives. What if you are a widow of a military member? Do they still get that discount?

Unless you are a member of the military or a Florida resident, there are no discounts on annual/premium annual passes. Haven't been since the demise of the Disney Club.

AFAIK, you can only buy annual/premium annual passes directly from Disney. The price is the same no matter where you buy them. If you see a difference, it's because one of the locations is not listing the sales tax. No matter where you buy a Disney pass, you pay the 6.5% Fl state tax (and no other state's tax).

It's news to me that annual/premium annual passes are available at AAA. I am having a very hard time believing they offer a discount on them, when Disney itself offers no discount on them. Until someone tells me that they themselves actually recently bought one at a AAA office, I must assume the poster who recommended AAA as a source for annual /premium annual passes was misinformed.

I just called SoG to check before I saw the last post. There is a discount for un-remarried military widows if they have an ID card (I know - you just said that). It's about 10%.

As posted on another thread earlier last week, tickets purchased at Shades of Green (i.e., the military tickets) are ONLY for use by Military, Military retirees and DOD Civilians. You need a DOD ID card to purchase tickets and I would think they are intended only for those eligible to use them. I don't believe it is legally or morally proper to use these tickets if you do not fit into one of the above categories. I have also heard that Disney might start checking ID's, at the gate, of people using these tickets to insure only those entitled to use them are doing so.

They are for military, their dependents AND their guests staying with them at the time of activation/purchase. Adults are 371- and children are 311- The only id you need is at purchase, then you get scanned and the rest is in the bioprint

That's interesting. I called yesterday and was told tickets are only for Military, their dependents, Retired Military and DOD Civilians. The person must possess a valid DOD ID. Somehow I don't think "their guests" qualify unless they have DOD ID. It's fairly clear to me!!

If you have a relative that is a CM, you might try there. That is the only place I know that still has discounts on APs.

Don't want to get in an argument.... I was just posting my experiences for the last 7 years buying tickets at the SoG with my mom on vacation(She's with me on vacation and yes she has a valid id We have never had a problem buying tickets. You must show a military id before buying the tickets, but then you can buy for however many are in your party with you......Have you ever had any experiences being denied tickets at SoG? Did you ask when you called if the military member could buy the tickets for other members in his party? And to the original poster, if you just want PHP you can have your military member picked it up on their base. We use to do this before our trips to save time.

We have never had a problem buying tickets. You must show a military id before buying the tickets, but then you can buy for however many are in your party with you

Just want to confirm Twotoohappy's post. We have purchased AP's at SoG for the past 2 years via my DH's DoD status. We simply go to the SoG Ticket office - DH shows his DoD Identification and we purchase AP's for our family.

We do not stay at SoG, however we have used the SoG overflow rate for lodging a number of times. It has been slightly better than AP rates the last couple of years, however with the SoG remodel there isn't much overflow - so the rates are harder to come by now.

We have never been ask by any castmember - outside of the SoG ticket office to produce a DoD identificatio - even when checking into our Disney Hotel on the SoG overflow rate. In fact my DH does not carry his DoD identification on him when we are in the parks to avoid the risk of it being stolen.
