Is there any way to fix this??

My daughter just got a $25 App Card for her birthday to use on her Ipod Touch. Well, she got a little overzealous scratching off the silver coating over the code...and scratched off two of the number/letters.

I've used a magnifying glass, but the symbols are just gone, no way to read them. If it had only been one, we could have taken the time to work out all the possibilities, but I don't think that's going to work with two missing.

Is there any way to get a new card/code??? If I contact Itunes, will they be able to tell that the card is unused and issue us another code??? I'm guessing we're just out of luck and I'll have to replace the card for her, but thought it was worth asking if anyone here has ever experienced this before??

Thanks.

Yes my daughter did this too, I either called or emailed Itunes and they were great. I think they looked it up from the barcode on the gift card, confirmed it had not been redeemed and emailed me a new code. Go to the itunes site and do a search the information on what to do should be there. I think that is how i figured out what to do.

A store should be able to read the strip; do you have an Apple store anywhere near you? (The trick being that since it was a gift it is hard to prove that she didn't just take it off a rack. Still, if all you want is to find out what the 2 digits are, I would think they would be willing to help you, since the card would not work if it were not activated.)

Wonderful! I'll do some more digging and see if I can figure it out. Thanks so much!

I'm sure my sis still has the receipt for the card, she's as strict with her budget as I am and keeps all of her receipts until the end of the year. I just didn't know if that would help since I didn't think a store would be able to tell if we used the card.

I guess I'll start with the itunes site, and if that doesn't work, try taking the card and receipt back to where my sis got it.

Thanks!
