We haven't eaten anywhere in Animal Kingdom really. We love the Sci-Fi in Hollywood Studios and we love the "Land"? restaurant where it rotates. We love places that are special, such as the Mexican Restaurant in Epcot that feels like a night time with the stars in the sky. Is there any place that's themed like that in Animal Kingdom? We're looking for a full-service restaurant with a special theme. We don't mean the Rain Forest, because we've been there so much in so many other locations. Anybody have ideas?
Thanks so much,

My personal opinion is this is an area Disney needs to work on. I think they are with Yac and Yeti, but that doesn't appeal to me so I have not been, but I am hopeful they will be working on more. I thought that the T-Rex restaurant would have been good there. (I realize it isn't a "Disney" restaurant, but then neither is Rainforst).
Again, jsut my opinion and I am sorry it isn't more helpful...

We had a fantastic meal at Yak & Yeti and it's a beautifully themed restaurant. Architecture & decor, so many of the "attention to details" that Disney does so well :thumbsup2

We're trying Yak & Yeti next month, have read some great reviews!:goodvibes

We ate at Tuskar house for lunch in Aug and it was very good. We just walked up and was seated within 10 min. I would never have chose this restaurant but the group I was with wanted to try it, I am so glad we did.

We just got back and had lunch at Yak & Yeti and thought it was really good.

Id jump on the boat to AKL and eat at Jiko or Boma if you want something really nice

Boat or bus? Did they make a water launch and build a river to AKL since I've last been to AK/AKL this past December?:confused3

We had lunch at Yak & Yeti for the first time two weeks ago and loved it. The food was excellent, especially the fried wontons for dessert. Also loved the interior of the restuarant. So much detail and many things to look at.

We love the Yak & Yeti. The interior design is amazing, so much to look at! The food is very good (hint - Pho) and it is great fun to get a window seat upstairs and people watch.

I honestly like the Flame Tree BBQ. The food is pretty good but it's the view that's awesome, the seating can make you feel like it's a remote little hut with other people in your hut.

This is the view from our table:

We absolutely loved lunch at Tusker House this past August :thumbsup2 The food was amazing and my young girls got adventurous with trying new things! :) We'll definitely be going back!

Thank you to everyone who let me know their favorite restaurants in Animal Kingdom. I'll try to view some photos and get a reservation made today. We are so excited and down to 1 week & 6 days now. Can't believe that I'll be there soon.:yay:
This is a great message board. You guys make it all so special !!:worship:

Pomcoach,

On Sept. 13th we had lunch at Yak & Yeti. We were seated promptly, at the second floor, near a window. The best place!!.

The food was excellent. My wife and nephew ordered the Baby Back Ribs, and set a new world record eating them. My wife explained to me that they were so good that there wasn't any time to lose.

I ordered the Mahi Mahi. Perfect, The sauce just this side of spicy. Mmm... The rice, perfect. In my case, I took my time, as I wanted to savor it all the time I could :-)

Right now I don't remember what my wife had for dessert, but I asked for the fried wontons and they were delicious.

My only gripe was with the service. Our server got lost from time to time and had to remind him several times about our refills. Reading about other guests' experiences, though, it seems we were the exception.

On a side note, when my DD (6) asked me about the name of the restaurant, I told her that first we were going to eat a Yak and later on the Yeti was going to eat us :-)

I took a few photos of the restaurant, as it is nicely done...

Our table overlooked the upper left window
