Is there any goverment discounts?

My husband works for the state is there any goverment discounts?

I've never found a State / Government discount available at Disney but the Swan and Dolphin State / Government discounts can be quite substantial.

He may also be elig to stay at Shades of Green, they give a list of elig participants on their website and I believe state employees qualify to stay there. Other than that Swan/Dolphin is the only other one I have seen.

SOG is not affiliated with Disney in any way. It is a military recreation resort open to military and their families. They do not offer packages, only discounted park tickets, and you have to pay a daily parking fee at the resort.

Check the website very carefully to see if you qualify, but I don't think state employees do. A basic rule of thumb is, if you can get onto a military base and purchase groceries at the commisary and have a BX or commisary id card, then you can proibably stay at SOG.

They are affiliated with Disney, because they are on Disney property and you get many of the same priviledges as Disney resort guests, the only thing is you can't get the DDP if you stay at SOG.

That is not completely true. My mom is a retired Dept of Defense employee, and she doesn't have priviledges on post, but she is elig to use SOG. In fact we are going to go there in December to buy our tickets since she can get the discount.

Their website is not as specific as it used to be, so you might want to give them a call. If he is elig, but there are no rooms avail at SOG, they will upgrade you to a Disney resort.

From what I understand you have to be active or retired military, or a civilian employee of the Department of Defense (active or retired). Never heard of state employees getting in there.

Swan and Dolphin often have room discounts for federal and state employees. They are not Disney-owned, they are Westin and Sheraton.
