Is there any flexibility on hairstyles at BBB?

I have an appointment for my 3yo at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and in looking over the hairstyles I'm not sure she will love any of them. I don't want anything really elaborate but can they just do a simple pony or the princess one just not so pulled back?. I think she would love the experience- make up, glitter, tiara etc so would still like to do it, but am afraid the severe pony will make her miserable for the rest of the day.

I thought about Ivy Trellis but I saw online the kids have to be 4 and she will be 1 week shy of that.

I saw a video of the princess style and they really comb the hair back pretty tight. You all think it's a no go if I ask that they do that part a little bit looser? Maybe I'll see if I can switch to pirate league instead. Did I read that that the CMs at Castle Couture will sprinkle pixie dust if you ask for free?

I asked them to make my daughter's bun looser at BBB and they had no problem doing that. They just used more bobby pins and hair spray :) My daughter has thick, long hair and a sensitive scalp and they were able to make it loose enough that it didn't bother her at all but still stayed put.

The BBB hairstyles usually look headache-inducing to me. They pull the hair so tight! Probably to keep it in place.

Is there a place to see the hair style choices? I'm on the fence about doing it with my daughter...if it's set styles that would make our decision a lot easier (either it's something she would want or not!)

My two daughters have been to BBB. They have a pretty low tolerance for having their hair pulled back into tight ponytails, but neither one complained. They Fairy Godmothers used a TON of hairgel; that's why it looks so smooth. I think that the quantity of gel is part of the reason it looks so tight.

I've seen plenty of little girls growing upset at as the day goes on and wanting it undone before the end of the day.

Yet, it still seems soooo popular.

1. Yes you can ask for the style to be looser.
2. Yes, the CM's as Castle Couture will sprinkle pixie dust in your hair. I've had them do it as an adult and it's lots of fun. The CM's are also serving on the register so sometimes you have to wait.

My daughter is a complainer and never once complained about her hair after Bbb. What we noticed when we undid the do was that it was mostly gel and it wasn't pulled nearly as tight as it looked. With that said, you could always look into an appointment at harmony barbershop on Main Street. They do fun ponytails.

My 4 year old daughter had an appt last year. She did the bun with the tiara and was super excited. She LOVED the experience with the makeup and nail polish and all that but when she looked in the mirror she was shocked because she has bangs and they pulled them back. She smiled for the photographer and for all the fairy godmothers in training but once we left, my mom said something about how beautiful she looked and she burst into tears. She just didn't like that she didn't recognize herself. But the PP was right it's not as tight as it looks. It's A LOT of gel and hair spray and bobby pins.

So this year, we're going to the Pirates League to do the Mermaid Makeover. They do basically the same thing with makeup and nail polish but the hairstyle seems more flexible when it comes to the bangs :) and they get to do the pirate parade afterwards!

I've read on here multiple times (and been told by friends who have taken their daughters) that the hairstyle is not tight at all. It appears that way because of the amount of product put in it. The fairy godmothers in training also gave my friends tips on how to make it last (wrap it in toilet paper) - one did this and the hairstyle lasted for two days in the parks and through a Sunday - after they got home - at church. And this was with her very tender headed daughter, who never once complained (we spent the last two days in the parks with them and she still loved the hairstyle).

The first time we did this, my daughter was distraught about an hour after she got it done because she thought it meant she wasn't going to be able to swim that night. LOL. I told her we'd take some photos and take it down when she was ready to swim. All was good then. :) That's just to say that it might last for a couple days, but you never know how a small child is going to react. We always tried to keep it fun. I got my pictures, she got her makeover in the castle. And when it was done, it was done. We have 6 visits to the BBB to look back on with fond memories now that she's a teen. It was great fun while it lasted.

It is not that tight, really. The amount of gel they use is insane.
My DD cannot stand her hair PULLED back...they do make a pony/bun, but not by pulling, but by lathering everything back with gel and spray.
The stiffness is what ended up bothering DD, it got itchy.
