Has a Free Dining code been released for November or December? I haven't been on the boards for awhile but am looking to book a trip for Nov., Dec., or Jan. depending on what codes are good at what times. I did receive a pin code for 40% but we love the free dining. Do you feel like you get your money's worth on free dining when you stay at a moderate? This year we are thinking of POR instead of WL. TIA

I think it depends on the size of your family on whether or not the 40% deal is better.

Depending on how many in your party, 40% may be a better deal than free dining. Some FD PINs have been reported on the DIS but it seems that the room discount codes are more common right now. Last November extended FD was offered toward the end of July, but who knows if they'll do it again this year. Since it was just DH and I on our trip last November, we chose the 35% room discount rather than FD, the difference in price was negligible but we didn't want to mess around with ADRs and so paid for the QSDP, but our next trip will consist of 3 adults and a Disney "adult" age 10, FD would be a better deal for us. I'm booked right now with a 35% off room PIN.

We will be booking 2 rooms. In one room there will be 2 adults & an infant (myself, DH, & DD). In the other room, there will be 3 adults(my mother, sister, & father). I'm thinking the Free Dining is the better choice for us, but if it's not offered we still have the Monster Pin that I can use. Either way I'm just excited about going back to Disney! Was FD offered any last December?

Yes it was! I hope it comes back too. My son is an "adult" and even though we use deluxe dining the price reduction that free dining offers really helps, since we stay 10 to 14 days and the 2nd week is usually not under discount because of Christmas.
I am crossing my fingers with you!

Yep, it was first offered to Disney Visa members and then a couple of days later to the general public for dates through December. Keeping my fingers crossed for it again this year if I don't get a FD pin. Sounds like it'd be good for you as well, but 40% off is nothing to sneeze at. :worship:

I hope FD is offered in Nov-Dec. We will be staying in a value with 4 adults, 1 Disney adult (11 yr old) and two kids. FD would definitely be a good deal for us.

I got the pin code and saved $525.00 at POR, but I couldn't do it the first day, since that is a black-out day. So that was for a six night package at value season.

It is definately worth more than free dining to me, because I always go by myself.

The 4/3 deal and FD were both extended through December last year; but I wouldn't look at that as typical. Disney was reacting to the economy, which was not so good last year. Things are picking up this year, so it is too soon to tell.

The 4/3 deal was not extended into Dec last year. It came out, around Oct, I think for bookings of late Dec (I think) into the new year. It might've included any of Dec. though. I'd have to look to be sure.

Free dining is better for us. We stay at POP and during value season it's only $82-92 per night so we only save around $200 with the monster code. I went ahead and booked it but am hoping for FD. :rolleyes1

I totally understand you wanting the 'free dining', but the only 'not so magical' part is that they will charge you 'rack rate' on the room ... I've done the math up, down, backwards, and sideways for the free dining, annual passholder, room only with dining, etc..., and the best price I've gotten is to do a 'room only' with your 40% (standard room) and to add the dining plan ... OH, I should have asked if you were a passholder - because if you are, when you do a room only package (No park tickets need to be purchased, and this can save you lots of $$$), and you can add on the dining plan for a 30% discount.

I hope that they sprinkle some 'pixie dust' on your ressie and you get a great price !!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

actually, the best deal depends upon the party size and the location you are staying. 40% off a value will net you ~$35/nt savings while staying at say akl will net you ~$100/nt. Since the dining plan is about $40/nt per adult and a little less for kids, a party of 2 adults and two kids could save ~$120 a night. On the other hand if your party is just one adult and two kids your savings would be closer to ~$60/night.

So you see, the best deal depends . . . on the resort and the number of people.

A good rule of thumb though is that free dining tends to be best unless you are staying at a deluxe. then the 40% deal becomes better.

I agree! We are staying at BLT & BWV two different trips......It's just Me & My DW, so for us we will take 40% off the room....OR get the passholder rate then add the dinning..

I might be misunderstadning you, but do you think you can add dining at a 30% discount if you are a passholder? (without buying tickets?)
I don't beleive that is true. I don't think there is any discount for dining at all, and from everything I have read, passholders still have to add a 1 day ticket if they want the dining plan. I know this was true last year, but it could've changed.

I used my pin code at POR and saved $525.00 for a six night package. The first night was not covered on the code because it is still considered part of T-giving weekend.

So that will give you an idea of the savings.

When did everyone get the room only pins for DEC????:confused3

I got mine about two weeks ago.

I did what someone suggested about messing around with some trips, but not actually booking them.

Next day, I had a pin code - cannot verify if that worked, but it was surely coincidental.

It does have some black-out days in December though and you cannot use if for days that are blacked out - it is a bit different than some of the other codes.
