food low in salt? :scratchin I am supposed to go in Wednesday for my blood pressure check and I don't want to jinx it. :sad2: There is a bag of Lay's calling my name :scared: :faint:

That's a real toughie. Pretty much anything with a sauce will be loaded with salt. The appetizers and soups are out too.

Maybe steamed chicken & vegetables with no sauce (ooh, hold me back!)? Steamed vegetable dumplings?

The fortune cookie is probably OK. :rotfl2:

Honestly, if those were my choices, I'd just pass on the Chinese until I was in the clear!

I have this problem with every Chinese restaurant I go into. Now I have weeded out a few favorites who will do what I ask. I place my order and tell them "No salt, very LITTLE soy sauce." (This can only be done at places that cook to order - no premade stuff like soup or egg rolls, as the poster said above.) When they argue with me, I tell them I get SICK if I eat too much salt! :crazy2:

Beyond that, if they're really not willing to make it without salt, I just step away from the counter & walk away. Sometimes they'd rather lose a potential customer, to not having the food taste their way. :confused3 Hence, my only having a few favorite Chinese restaurants.

LOL, now you've made me hungry for Chinese food. I guess i'm ordering that tonight! :teeth:

We always ask for the dishes to be made with "less salt" when we order Chinese.
