Is there an October 2011 codes watch?

Put me down on the "I want a discount" category.

Would rather get a hotel upgrade than free dining. :)

I do think that if they offer FD in October, it will be on the Value Resorts for the QS Dining Plan, and not for Moderate & Deluxe. Which is why I'd rather just get the discount. :thumbsup2

my guess:

*FD @ the deluxe resorts only, including DVC, that seem to always be available under most offers (AK, WL, SSR, OKW)

*mandatory photobook

*length of stay MYW purchase or party ticket for AP holders

Subscribing! We're going 10/23-10/29. Hoping to be lucky enough for a PIN on room only, as we already have NE tix from our first family trip in '08.

Would love to stay at CBR or another mod, have only ever stayed at value (POP and ASM). Trying to tweak my budget to afford a mod... but a discount code would absolutely help!!

Here's to October!
:cheer2:

I'm not aware of any active codes yet, but I'll definitely subscribe to the watch list! We will be there Oct 1-9, and I'd love....well...any discount....especially 40% off the room (of course!). :) Free dining would be nice as well. Fingers crossed!! :cloud9:

Hoping to go the first week in Nov. But if NO discounts come out, we're not going......with the price of gas and/or airlines it would just be too expensive this year. Several other families we talked to from our area have said the same...NO DISCOUNT, NO GO :(

We want to go Oct 1-9..I am so bummed about the new offer ending in Sept. We can't go in Sept, so now we wait. We may still go without FD, but would go for sure if we had FD.

Here's hoping!! ;)

I'm booked Oct 22 to Oct 29th. We took this week because we were offered 40% off Deluxe Room. we never stayed in a Mod or Deluxe. With the discount we were able to do it!
I hope another Pin or discount is offered for everyone in this time frame. I'm going to keep looking back in case a better offer comes. From what I read the 40% is the best.

I got this offer via email and mail. I have not been to Disney since 2005.

GOOD LUCK ALL!

I'm really wanting a discount, or else we'll be staying off site. our dates are 10/20-10/30

Not to get anyone's hopes up.....

Just for the heck of it, I called reservations late yesterday afternoon. I spoke to a wonderful cast member named Ames; I told him I had been on the Disney website and saw that there was a free dining offer out through September 24th. I then explained my family can only come in October due to my job and that I was disappointed the offer wasn't extended that far.

He told me not to worry overly much. He said October is a really slow time for them and that there will most likely be an offer. I interrupted him (I didn't mean to) and said "in June or July, right". He laughed and said, yes, in June or July an offer for October will most likely be released. He explained that the photobook is a package that they're trying out. I told him I would rather have the CD than the photobook and he said he has received a lot of the same feedback. Who knows? Maybe Disney will listen.

But...just wanted to reassure everyone (including myself) that an offer is coming....we just have to patient for another couple of months. The gods surely didn't grant me with patience, so, until then.....I'll be the one chopping at the bit.

I'm going down from October 19 - 23 for Food & Wine (to celebrate my 40th with a big group of friends). We're already booked at The Dolophin, but I've always wanted to stay at Boardwalk (or maybe Beach/Yacht Club) ... but I haven't stayed on property since the mid 1980s.

Assuming there's some reasonably good room-only offer for AP holders released can someone tell me the following:

1. What kind of rates might I expect ?
2. Would there be any benefit to booking a room there now, to be sure I have a room, and then calling to get a lower rate if it's released ? I can always cancel it and get refunded if new rate deals never come out.
3. Can I get AP rates if I don't plan on buying my AP or activating it until July ? Would I need to get an AP early, even if it's not activated until July ?

Thanks for any help. This is my first time even considering staying on property in a long while, so I'm a little rusty on all the tricks. It's always SOOOOOO much cheaper to rent a house when you've got a big group and are staying for a long time.

How strange! My dates are also Oct 1-9! We'll be at the Poly. We were fortunate enough to book a bounceback rate for those dates, but I'm still keeping my eyes open for anything better that might come along...

It's a great time to go!! :)

We have a room only discount at Pop, but could go up to a mod if FD would come out for our dates!

I hope he's right! I was looking at the Mousesavers site with past discount releases, and last year there was a room only discount released on 05/03/2010 for August through the beginning of October. I was hoping there'd be something this week, but no luck yet. Crossing my fingers for June :thumbsup2

thanks for posting that update figmentchick, i am excited about the possibility of a discount.

hey, jcvalenti we'll be there across 14 - 21st, might have to drop by for a beer !!:thumbsup2 We have the sheraton vistana booked just in case. at $160 per night it's good insurance.

Absolutely - always fun to meet people from the boards. I'll be the guy drinking my way from the International Gateway up to the Argentina stand out front of Mexico :) Gotta get an empanada and some Malbec to officially start my Food & Wine visit.

Booking a room now will do you no good if and when a discount is released for October if no rooms under the same catagory you have booked are allocated for the promotion.

I am going almost the same dates as you October 19-25 and I know that the cheaper catagories of room at BW and YC are not available for those dates,(unless they are being held back for some reason) the BC does still have some availbilty for GV but last time I checked BW was WV and up and YC only CL available( there is a convention at YC from the 16-20)

I did book BC back in March with a 20% pin DH recieved but another thing to consider is up till now most of the pin# sent out did not cover mid October.
The pin I rec'd was an oddball running from Oct 18 to Dec 22.

October is typically one of the "slower" times at Disney Parks but I do think it as far as resort availability it all depends on where you want to stay, the Epcot area resorts book up due to the F&W Festival

Quick question, i need to book domestic flights for OCT, is it likely that the prices now are the cheapest or it it likely that FALL specials are likely to come out across june and july? And previous experience?

I need to fly from vegas to NY early OCt and then drive to WDW. Wondering if $250 per person is reasonable for direct flights for this season.

Hard to say what airfare will be this summer due to the unsettled middle east going on. It's a gambling game, you could be a winner in waiting but then you could also look to lose a lot.

$250 might be underestimating it for a direct flight from Vegas to NY because the cheapest out there seems to be $400 round trip unless this is a 1 way flight.
