Is there an Einstein Bros. Bagels near FW?

I have no problem with petroleum in foods.

In fact, my body typically digests it and turns it into gas.

All righty then!! You need to invent a devise that can convert methane into golf cart fuel!! A hose would be a good place to start! :thumbsup2

I don"t know about Einstein Bros. but there is a place next to Wholefoods in Dr. Phillips that has the best bagels I have ever had. I don't have the number but I doubt they gas up the bagels with rocket fuel!

I was looking at a picture of the Southern Smothered Hotdog on another thread, and it looks pretty greasy. My guess is it is loaded with petroleum. I am thinking that my truck will be due for an oil change about the time I am at the Fort, and I am wondering if I could buy a couple and wring them out into the crankcase?

I think that sounds like an excellent idea! Be sure to let us know how that works out for you. :thumbsup2

No, but dangerous, none the less. When he has petroleum, he loses self control and becomes a danger to himself and others. :(

Since it sounds like it's only your son with this unique condition I'm confused on why just the question on bagels since a true allegry to petroleum is in so much in trace amounts what are you going to do when not eating the specific bagel being discussed here. It seems your problem if far beyond just bagels and I can't see how you can protect your son when you eat out. I have never hear of a menu that addresses using petroleum based products, things like peanuts, shellfish, lactose, etc. yes, but petroleum NO.

I really feel for you and your situation if you are feeding a family of 8 based on what a single person has an issue with. I just can't imagine that ... you either make 7 suffer or one feel he is different and has to be eating something completely different that all his siblings and parents.

Also are you saying his allergy is effecting him mentally since I just can't envision that. An allergy is usually physical and not mental.

Maybe I just don't understand this subject and am trying to learn something I never considered a potential issue.

Yes, I am very careful with all our food, not just the bagels. It is just that the bagels would be a nice treat while we are on vacay.

You can read more about petro-chemicals in your food and how it can effect you at http://www.feingold.org/ and feel free to pm me if you have moore questions.

I can see clearly now, the rain has gone! I can see all obstacles in my way. Gone is petroleum that had me down. It's gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day!

Just to clarify, one reason we camp instead of staying at a hotel is because I cook most all our food from scratch rather than risk a reaction from eating out. There are places that have some items we know we can have, but it is just easier to cook every thing myself and be sure.

Also, since petro-chemcials can cause a host of ills, including cancer, the rest of my family is happy to eat clean food. They feel sorry for their friends who eat junk and then act out of control and get in trouble. They urge their friends to consider their food choices more carefully. :D

I've never heard of this before, but I have heard that other kids can have reactions to other things in a mental sort of way.

And we do all have some sort of mental reaction to some things. Think of a sugar/caffeine rush we get when drinking a redbull, rockstar, or some other kind of "energy" drink. It stimulates the mind and increases the heart rate so a person can stay awake longer.

A lot of parents also say kids with autism have a mental sort of reaction, they get angry, hyper, sensitive when they eat gluten products. While its not going to close their airways off like a typical "reaction", it's still an unpleasant side effect.

look who's back....... you can use your bagels to power your car that you are taking for your hour long commute to disney, how's that for efficiency?
