... to get wax out of a votive holder? I usually pour in boiling water and then fish out the floating wax with a teaspoon. There must be a better way.

I just use a teaspoon to press down on the side of the dry wax and it all usually popps out as a full disc.

I try and pop it out as well, failing that ive used the hot water trick as well ! im not sure there is another way ;)

Tried with just the spoon, but it's stuck fast and is just coming off in little shavings.

I've just got one out with boiling water but I'll definitely try the freezer next time.

Libby, another thing I do (if I remember! ;) ) is put about a teaspoon of water in the bottom of the votive holder before I put the candle in - this definitely stops it sticking and it plops out with ease... :thumbsup2

Yankee don't recommend adding water to samplers or tarts as the water can make the wax spit as it melts. I think the freezer method might be safer.
The only problem I have found is that sometimes if it's a shaped votive holder the blob at the bottom won't come out through the hole, so then I have been known to chop it up with scissors! :rotfl:
