Is there an another entrance....

we are going to stay at BWV and I called and they said it looks like our room is in the wing to the south by the tennis courts on the first floor. Is there an outside entrance on that end so you don't have to walk all the way to the lobby?

there are doors closer to the pond. We used them many times to get to the parking lot. It was much easier than going to the lobby.
However, there is no elevator by that entrance (unless we missed it) so if you are on a higher floor, you will have to walk.

What is the view like from the south end? When on the first floor do you have a patio and if so are there chairs like on the balcony?

If you are facing south then you would be overlooking the small pond, and beyond that is the valet parking. If you are on the ground level there are small patios with chairs. You are located very near the walkway to MGM and not very far from the Community hall and the "quiet" pool.

If I understand your location the way you described it, MarkW is right, just after the bridge there is an entrance (pathway) to your left, much easier and faster.
