We have annual passes that run out in October, and were considering renewing them. Is there a discount when you renew an annual pass, or is it just the full price again?

Thanks!

...............and you can renew 60 days in advance.

Why do that?..............because if they raise the prices before you actually renew, you get to pay the increased amount.

If you are 100 percent sure that you are going to renew, it sure would stink to pay extra just because you waited until really close to your anniversary date.

Your renewal will continue with the same dates. If your next trip after the expiration isn't for awhile, you may be better off getting a new annual pass that will start with your next trip.

We used skip a month or two in the past.

If our AP expired in Oct, and we knew we were going in Dec, we often would get a fresh AP in Dec for our trip..........as mentioned above.

Either way.............you will still be able to enjoy all the benefits of having an AP.

ALSO, because (and this is the primary reason for the now 60-day extension of the before-expiration renewal date from the traditional 30 days)
AP guests staying at a WDW resort for an upcoming trip can book FP+ for their park dates up to 60 days in advance, even if their current AP runs out near/during their upcoming trip.

So to clarify, my AP expires on November 18 and I arrive on the 19th. Do I have to renew at exactly 60 days before in order to make my fastpasses 60 days out on Sept 20th? (Staying on property)

My pass expires Sept 26th. Just got notice that I can renew at a 15% discount if I do so prior to expiration.

DebbieB notes the one important point with renewals. The new expiration date is one year from your current expiration, not from the date you first use your new AP.

If you intend to only use an AP for your park tickets on an upcoming trip...
You must have a current AP, or a valid AP voucher or a valid AP renewal voucher connected with your MDE account in order to make FP+ reservations on the date you are able to book your trip's FP+.

Sorry. Do you mean current as in for my travel dates or just a currently active AP when I make the fastpasses?

When you renew online, are you given the info for MDE to update date of expiration immediately? Or does it happen automatically?

Sorry.

1. Do you mean current as in for my travel dates or just a currently active AP when I make the fastpasses?

1. Any AP that you wish to use as "tickets" to the parks during your TRIP dates must be active (or a voucher has been paid for) on or before the dates that you will be at the parks in order to make advance FP+ reservations.
That means that you need to purchase any new tickets, or AP voucher, or AP renewal voucher (that will be USED on the dates of your trip) before you can book FP+ for those dates.

Example: You can only book FP+ for Nov. 20, if you OWN (or have paid for) a ticket or AP or AP voucher (linked in your MDE account) that you will be able to use at a WDW park on Nov. 20.

2. It may happen automatically (likely, actually) or, you might have to input the ticket, AP, or voucher number into your MDE manually.
