One of my aunts has asked me to find out if there is an address to send a donation to help the people of that terrible tragedy in Russia. She asked me if my "Disney friends" would know.

If I can get out of here long enough at lunch today, I am going to run over to the Russian embassy, which is not far from where I live. I went by it the other day, there are a ton of flowers outside in tribute to the tragedy. They are allowing the general public to come in today and sign a book and give their thoughts and prayers to those involved. If I do get over there, I'll find out if there is an address for those not in the D.C. area where they can mail a letter or send a donation.

Airhead, sorry, I didn't make it over there -- I had to run to the post office at lunch and the line was out the door. :(

I'll see what I can find out this evening.

Airhead, I just called the Russian embassy (202-298-5700), here is the website:

This is really nice of your aunts! I'm going to send a donation today too, and while I won't be able to get over to the embassy to sign the book (its only open until 4pm, I think) I do want to go by and at least look at all the flowers again. Such a tragedy. :(

snoopy,

Thank you for that link. I've been looking for a way to help also. I found a fund set up through russian ministries.org but if this is the way the Russian embassy recommends - then I'll go with it. I was going to email the embassy but hadn't done it yet - so thanks again for your effort.

I can't even watch the news today. They have a video the terrorists shot themselves and showing pictures of the children's funerals. I quickly turned it off, just too painful. I can't even comprehend what the people there must be going through.

No problem ladies, glad I could be of help. :)

I know, its so sad, isn't it? Puts life little problems in perspective, certainly. :(
