Is there a way to go to Seaworld, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure for one day each, plus hotel, food, gas, and so on for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 3 and 6 for $2500 or less? Would like to stay 5 days at hotel. We live in SC and would drive an Expedition. I have a AAA card. Would we miss out on a lot of rides if we don't get the fotl pass? I'd love to stay at the Nick hotel.

Everything pretty much depends on your dates. If you got the 4 park flex pass that they sell on the universal web site, your tickets would be $185 for each adult and $150 for each child. This would give you all three of the parks you mentioned plus wet and wild. I checked our dates at the Nick hotel and its running about $200 a night. If you are going at a busy time FOTL is a lifesaver, but if you are going at an off time, you can go without it. Really the price at RPR isn't much more than the NIck hotel, I think our rate for the same dates as our trip was $204 at RPR. If you really want to save some money, check out the orlando board and see all the cheaper hotel options. This can really be done with some planning! Have a great trip!

We want to go in early June..and we've never been to these places so I don't know if we can just get by without fotl passes. The Nick Hotel looked really cool and I'm sure my kids would love it. Would it be cheaper paying regular price for one day each? Since we're only going one time to each place.

No its cheaper to get the passes. Went to Universal Studios last year at the last minute as we has a late flight back from our Disney vacation and it cost 90 for 2 adults and that did not include Islands of Adventure. So yes i would go with the passes much cheaper. As for hotels there a plenty on International Blvd I know that you wont have FOTL but you may not need that depending when you are going.

I'm sure you could do it. We just came back from a 15 day trip. We drove and stayed in motels 3 nights total enroute and home. Two kids aged 13 and 3. We stayed at a Disney value resort for 6 nights, 5 day MYW tickets, 2 nights in Daytona, tix to Bud Shootout, 2 add'l nights in Orlando, 1 day at SeaWorld and 1 day at Silver Springs. This cost us about $4000. For the 6 nights that we stayed at Disney we bought breakfast foods and snacks to eat in the room which saved some money. Another idea for you would be to stay somewhere with kitchen facilities, which is what we've decided to do for the next trip. That way we will eat breakfast and supper at our room and only eat lunch at the parks or wherever. Tropical Palms resort is a good option.

I copied and pasted this from the website for the week we are going June 13-18. I couldn't believe how expensive this place was!! We have never stayed there so I don't know if its worth it, but for the price I would stay at RPR and get FOTL. If money is an issue (and it is this year for us so there will be no FOTL) check out the Orlando board for some great off-site bargains. We went with hotelkingdom and got CP for $400 for the week including tax. Its not on-site, but this is a budget trip this year for us!

We did about that. RPR for a hair over $900 (4nights/5days, hotelkingdom), $340 gas (drove from NY), $280 tickets (3 of the 5 days for the price of 2 deal), $100/day (give or take) on food, and spending $. I totalled up everything this morning and it came to a little over $2000. We used our AAA card at every chance and took advantage of the refill cup EVERY day. Of course, there were only 3 of us (2 adults, 1 child).

Do I think RPR is worth $200/night? No, not when I can get a resort (nice) in Orlando for $70-80/priceline. BUT, but, but...FOTL made it soooooooooo worth it. What a nice and easy vacation. If you are only going to USO/IOA for one day each, maybe you could get RPR for 1 night (get 2 full days of FOTL) and then move to another resort (via priceline or whatever) for the rest of your stay.

But, yea, I think you can do it!

Those are the new Nick prices?? Wow.. we stayed there when it was HIFS and unless they increased the actual size of those suites, its not worth those prices. There isn't a kitchen just a small spot where they crammed a small fridge and micro and put a tiny table in the living room. The resort itself was quite nice though.

I know it's not complete, but if the results I've seen at the nick hotel continue, it's not even going to compete with an all-stars at disney. 200 a night is ridiculous.

Yep, I agree $200.00 a night is ridiculous. My DD has been watching those commercials and saying "Ooohhh, I would love to stay there" I said no after seeing the rates. But after reading about how great it was, the new pool etc. I booked a room, 2 bed kids suite hopefully spongebob, for one night (5/3) for 149.00 with a MIL discount. Which is BTW more than I'm paying for AKL :sad2: . But I didn't tell her, it'll be a surprise.:ssst:
