I have some friends who are getting married in October and then having a budget honeymoon to Paris and a visit to DLP. They have said that they do not want or need wedding gifts as such, but would like contributions so that they can buy a trailer tent.

They have asked me for some tips etc for their visit to DLP which I am obviously happy to give them. But I would maybe like to treat tham to say breakfast at the DLH and the walking tour (just examples at the moment). Is there a way to buy gift vouchers or pay for these and then gift the experiences at all?

Hi Jules - I am pretty sure that this is not possible unfortunately. How about maybe loading up a pre-paid credit/gift card and give this with a card saying what it is to be used for? Its not the same I know, but we did this for my brother's first trip to DLP too

You could get the prices, preload a card as the OP said and give them the card but also have rung up and booked the tour and breakfast in their names, I presume you could do that

just thought I would mention that the walking tour does take up a few hours - not sure how long your friends have in DLP, but it is quite a chunk out of a day...

Yes, I am aware that the tour is 2 hours (or a bit longer if the guide is keen!). I just want to give them something that they may not have been able to walk in and buy or book themselves.

I guess I will have to probably use some kind of voucher or pre paid card then. As we are attending the wedding I think I will make a card and write a rhyme or similar to outline what the actual gift is. I would be happy to contribute to the trailer tent but I felt that giving a DLP gift reflected us as well as offering a unique experience that they will always remember.

Maybe I should offer to go out to DLP at the same time and guide them round! LOL
