MGM and Epcot? :confused3 I vaguely remember seeing it. I have early breakfast ADR's at MGM but do not want to stay there all day. I would like to go from MGM to Epcot in the quickest, easiest possible way. If there is no direct way to do so, can someone suggest an alternative?

There is a luanch and if you don't want to wait for the boat I believe it is about a 10-15 minute walk following the path around the lake (never actually done it though so this info might not be entirely correct :goodvibes )

There is a boat shuttle between the BC/YC, BWI, S/D & Disney Studios. There is another launch between these hotels and EPCOT. Fastest way is grabbing the boat to the BC/YC and walking to the International Gateway entrance at EPCOT.

The boats are a nice relaxing way to get from MGM to Epcot. You can walk as someone previously mentioned but I think the walk is probably closer to 20-25 minutes than 10-15. :)

I will be traveling with a 5 year old so a 10-15 minute walk will probably be closer to 35-45 minutes. He does not have very much pep in his step on a good day!

Does the water launch leave at a scheduled time? Our ADR's are before MGM opens so I imagine we will be leaving right around park opening to go to Epcot.

The Friendship boats do not have 'scheduled times' but run on a regular basis throughout the day between Epcot and MGM. It's a 30 minute trip between the parks - plus whatever wait time you may have for a boat to arrive. The FBs run pretty often in the mornings since they are bringing guests to the parks for opening. :boat:

little FYI...the area you wait for a boat to either BW or Epcot at MGM look over the fence and you can sometimes see some fairly large turtles & fish. Sometimes it helps the wait pass by.....

This is one of our favorite transportation options. Except for the busiest times, the wait is not usually long, and as stated above, even for fast walkers it is closer to 20-25 minutes, not bad, but the boat is relaxing. This in the past was one of those little known ways of getting around, but now is very well known. Absolutely our favorite park hop!

My daughter loved your comment! :) She's a FB captain ~ first on the college program and now as a seasonal CM, so she still goes down every few months (or as often as she can arrange it!) and drives the boats.

CMs on these launches are also some of the nicest.....wonder if it has to do with being on the water all day. :sail:Imo they have that old Disney Magic!!!pirate:

We did not even know there was a way to get to MGM from Epcot until my brother who has never been to Disney before tells us to take the boat LOL. We did and ducks where riding on the hood of the boat the whole way. We sat in the back open part and my son loved it. Easy non crowded way to get to between the parks.Yes there was a storm but the breeze was just perfect.

Walking from the Boardwalk to the International Gateway takes me 10-15 minutes at an average pace. I don't know how much time you'd have to add on for the MGM-Boardwalk walk...but my guess is that the boat would take just about as long.

I wouldn't do the parks w/o a stroller for a 5yo. We will have one for our 5yo. I friend took a 3 & 7yo in the spring and got a double, well worth it for them, I saw the family photos as proof!

!! Where do you board this boats?

The boat docks are-
just outside the front gates at Disney (MGM) Studios,
just outside the International Gateway at Epcot,
behind Yacht and Beach Club Resorts,
behind Boardwalk Resort,
sitting between the Swan and Dolphin Resorts.
