Hi all,

I got a very unusual email from the swan/dolphin with the following subject line "R607VB ". IT was a generic message asking me to take a look at something. Anyone else get it? I am on the mailing list so I am wondering if it is a virus. I started to download it and got some virus message from my scan software (it came through hotmail which is already scanned anyway). Be careful.

I got that too and thought it was very strange - first the title and then the body of the email - something like
Hi! How are you?

I send you this file in order to have your advice

See you later. Thanks

I didn't think that sounded very professional or sounded like a promotion so I didn't download it -- I would be interested in finding out what it was.

We got several messages/files with that same message. The odd thing was that they came into my husband's email address and he never posts or joins mailing lists or anything. The user name was something like "gosiliv" . I deleted all the messages and blocked the sender. I too would be interested in finding out what this was and where it came from. None of my virus scans picked up anything but I wasn't taking a chance.

THAT IS A BAD VIRUS! We "got" it from another source last week and took hours to get rid of!! DO NOT OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is how the body of the letter is worded. UPDATE your virus definitions as it is very new!

In an effort to keep the resort board on the topic of Disney Resorts this thread is being moved to the technical support board.....

I have it in quarantine right now. It is pretty nasty.

This is one of those Address Book Viruses. It remails itself to everyone in your mailbox. Therefore, you received it because someone else had you (or your spouse) in their mailbox. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to block that email address. Check with your husband. It may very well be a valid address.

Thanks Tina for all your information. This user name was someone that we had never heard of before and we got 5 or 6 messages each with different files attached to it. I never open any kind of .exe or .bat file or anything of that nature, even if it is from someone we know, but this one was completely out of the blue. And to an address that is never used on our computer (hubby uses work address when he needs to). Very strange, I just wonder how someone picked up a trace of his email address.

Thanks again!

Kelly
